Update 11-16-17
11-16-17 Update, the first battery pack had cells that were manufactured improperly, see photo of edge of cell pouch with compromised seam that leaked. I cannot understand why they would not stop this in QA/QC? This will eventually ruin the whole battery pack!11-11-17 update... Replacement battery seems to be working, but I'm concerned that the BMS might be the weak link? The vendor said to keep the first battery! So I agreed. And I took it apart to find out why it failed, the BMS board was bad, it created a bad in balance in the cells causing cell damage. There is no way to monitor the individual cells. Unless you open the battery! At the cost of these batteries you would think they would give you some way to monitor the cells! If you could monitor them you would not damage the whole pack! I will keep the new one sealed so the warranty will stay good! I just hope it lasts as described in the vendors review of the battery. Stay tuned! First Battery came severely drained from lack of maintenance, it was at 13.3 volts and will not charge!! Vendor said to charge it for 48 hrs. To activate the cells, this did not work! Vendor agreed to send me a replacement, I agreed only if they test the replacement to make sure it's operational. He agreed on 10-31-17. Waiting again, note:the first battery was in it's original shipping material from China dated 5-2016 and never opened. So the battery was 18 months old without any maintenance! I believe in giving vendors a chance! We will see! UPDATE...11-4-17 replacement battery received! First this original ship date from China was 12-12-16, the box was never opened! But this time the Battery voltage was at 53.4! So I'm more hopeful, since I understand the properties of LIFEPO4 batteries, I do follow charging proceedures. I placed it on the test bench and hooked it up to the Charger that came with it. I will let it charge and go into balance mode for two hours so the cells become balanced prior to putting it into service. One other thing as I'm into keeping my electronics in great shape I will only use 1/3 of the max capacity while I'm breaking it in. I will update post Truthfully! Things are looking up! As stated I'm only pulling max 10 amp. And running a lot less for break in ! I ran a operational capacity test today and the pack is operating very well, tomorrow I will check balance and do a more specific capacity test. Stay tuned!
