It’s only been on the water a few months but so far so good. Do I think the OEM part is better? Yes absolutely. But if you want something that’ll probably last a few years at half the price of Yamaha OEM Then this will work fine. I had zero problems hooking up control cables or installing it- that being said the instructions are less than useless so you should at least have an idea of what you’re doing.UPDATE: after only one season this did not hold up. After ignoring warnings to buy OEM I now regret buying. The tilt trim switch exploded and fell apart. Although it looked like good quality I would not recommend this. It also had other malfunctions. I will be ordering the Yamaha for my boat this season.
