Nice kettle, good size, easy to clean
I bought this kettle to reduce clutter on the worktops, and I like the look of a traditional kettle standing in the hob. It looks just as it does in the listing. It is a cream colour and it is designed to go to a darker shade at the bottom. I imagine this will help to conceal any burn marks as it ages. It is obviously heavier than lesser kettles but, due to the size, it isn’t problematic to lift when filled. The lid comes off and on easily. The whistle is fine. The handle can be moved to one side when filling, if desired. However, it doesn’t move to the side on a whim and stays in position unless you deliberately move it. The handle doesn’t get hot after boiling and there is no need to use a teatowel to lift off the stove afterwards. It is a sturdy kettle and I can recommend. If you are new to stove kettles, they do take longer to boil than electric ones. However, I use this time to give the floor a quick sweep and it helps me feel productive (and I now have a very clean floor! 😊). I was worried about cleaning marks off without scratching the coating. I use a damp scourer (the kind that’s on one side of the sponge pad in the photo) and softly wipe. This removed all marks without causing damage. I can recommend.

Le creuset kettle
Good value always buy le creuset kettles I've yet to have one last longer than 2 years as unfortunately I live in an extremely chalky area but these are still good very stylish this size is perfect for two i will say as a rule they go around the rim and are prone to chip around the base so I say be wise when filling

Le cruset Stove top whistling kettle 1.6l
As a long time lover of stove top whistling kettles, I can safely say, I have bought my last kettle. The beautiful build quality and workmanship means I am anticipating this kettle to last at least 20 years plus despite only having a 5 year gaurentee. The handle stays cool and is easy to use. Although the handle is rivetted on - it is solid and my husband assures me the rivets are strong and secure but easily replacable should I break them (He is very handy though) I like that I can fill from the lid or the spout but you have to take some care when filling at the spout as it can gush back if the water flow is forceful. It is reassuring heavy but not too heavy that my weak wrists and poorly hands struggle. It is surpirisingly quick to heat water and I think that is due to its clever wide base. This wide base also means the fill level is below the spout so you don't get and splashes or spitting whilst it is boiling or tipping. Finally, I love the whistle - it is loud and insistent making it impossible to ignore or forget. Do I wish I had bought it in the volcanic orange - absolutely - it would have matched all my Le cruset pots but I was worried about chipping the enamel over time and thought that the mirror finish will still look good in 20 years time evn if it dulls & scratches or stains. Thanx Le cruset for a lovely kettle.

Superb kettle for induction hobs. Very loud whistle and works on ‘Boost’ setting
I’ve been using this kettle for over 18 months several times a day, mainly on my induction job’s boost setting and there have been no issues at all. The recommendation is not to use it on boost but the kettle is still working perfectly so I think this is more a guideline rather than an instruction. The whistle is almost too loud on boost setting on the hob, less so on the normal maximum setting but still perfectly loud several rooms away if doors are left open. The kettle also looks beautiful too. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Interior disintegrated after few uses - no longer usable
I purchased this kettle back in June and have only recently started to use it as the colder evenings creep in. After few uses the inside of the kettle has disintegrated leaving a rough, rusty residue, which comes straight back as soon as it has been washed. The rusty residue pours out with contents of the kettle meaning it can no longer be used. Sadly, a total waste of £72.
