The cactus came in a plastic bag only so we put it in a gift bag. I didn't see a volume control and I don't think the sound is really that good. It sounds like a bad speaker. The kids loved it though.

This toy picks up voices very easily which is great for the more quiet kids that would like to play with it. My only concern were the eyes, they were a little wonky and I'm hoping they don't pop out as they appear to be a severe choking hazard

It took a little bit get it started but it was the hit of the Christmas day gift exchange. I think the adults had more fun than when it was first turned on. In all seriousness, the toy got and held the attention of my grand daughter. She's not even a year old yet but she learned to move it and make noises to get it to respond. It is so much better than I had expected.

My daughter loves ducks so she and her siblings loved this. Her older siblings especially because they love the talking tom game. Anyways could be unenjoyable if your child is easily spooked as it can pick up on just about any sound and repeat it back loudly. Doesn't have anyway to turn the volume up or down but you can turn it off and it charges via usb which is a win. my daughter is 1 and teething so she got to biting its face and the eyes came out so probably not best to leave this with a child unattended as they are small button like eyes. Do with this information as you find best.

Some of the songs are inappropriate for children. I bought this for my niece and when her mother started to play the songs for my two months old niece, we were shocked to hear the first song was full of f-words. So
