Enjoyable
Have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and picked up many tips and pointers. What I have learned from this book has helped especially in my job with communicating!

Book has excellent communication tips for connecting with people with excellent, fun exercises to practice!
This is not the same ole personal development book - and I have read quite a few! The book is an easy to read, page turner! I will share some of it and will try not to give it all away! The author tells you how to get in sync with others, to speak positively instead of negatively, how to introduce others, how to ask a question to get people talking, tells the importance of a 10 second commercial and how to create it, tells the importance of giving and receiving feedback and has excellent summaries at the end of each chapter. Most of my ear marked pages are the ones that have exercises on them or excellent communication tips. They are all good exercises and I will be trying some of them out on family and friends to practice some of the things he teaches!

good refresher
Though I do not work in business, I decided to read this book. Networking and building connections with people is important in many areas of life. I was especially interested in how to make a good first impression, initiate a conversation and get a conversation roll. Regarding these I have found very simple and useful advices, some of them I have already used naturally.First and foremost attitude (body language, voice tone, facial expression) is one of the most important factor. Personal packiging (healthy look, dress style) also matters a lot, thus building a personal style is an essential step. As the author says: „In a face-to face communication people give most credibility to what they see, next to voice tone and least to the words they are hearing”.Honesty, I have skipped the chapters that were too business related for me. There are separate chapters on personality types, body language, let’s say these were just short introductions and a bit too descriptive. If someone is interested in more details I could suggest the book What every BODY is saying buy Joe Navarro.What I did not like about the book is the structure. The framed sections (side stories, exercises) always came in the middle of a topic. For me it would have been more logical to place these sections at the end of each chapter, before the 90-second summary. Maybe it is different in printing, I have bought the kindle version.Overall, I think it is a good refresher and might be useful for people in business. As the content was not so novel to me (I already knew or read things somewhere else) and I found the layout annoying I give the book 4 stars.

Your perfect elevator speech or byline can be accomplished in one day or two days maximum with guidance of this delightful book.

One of the best people skills application books I have read
Reading this book has exposed many blind spots I have had in meeting and connecting with people. I am starting a business, so connecting with others is quickly becoming an eat or starve decision. My 10 second commercial has helped me continue conversations with others that I had previously derailed multiple times. Knowing open vs closed body language has immediately opened friendships / relationships with others. Seeing how personality, attitude, and style all work together to help guide others' first impression of me has had amazing results, especially since I would have dismissed this as shallow before deciding to try them. I still have many ideas in this book to work on, but it had changed the way I approach people.In addition to business contacts, of the best things this has heped me with is everyday connections. It's great to start a conversation with a clerk at Wal-Mart or Home Depot with the intent to hopefully brighten their day. I was able to connect with my hygenist to help her talk through a family issue she was having. I've been able to better present concepts in a church group I lead using I-KOLA to help them better picture what I'm saying. I'm sure I'll have more stories in the near future. For anyone looking to improve connections with others, I highly recommend this book; it will be something I continually reference.

A better understanding of my business.
This book has revolutionized my thnking about my business. As a dentist I have always assumed that people understand what I do and for whom. But, as I read this book I realized that I didn't have a clear understanding of what I am trying to accomplish. Nick Boothman's book has helped me to better define what I am trying to accomplish in my patient's lives. When I understand and can better articulate the experience that I would like to provide for my clients, my staff and I have a better chance of success. If you cannot see the target it is very difficult to be on the mark. With this book we were able to see more clearly what we want to provide, every minute of every day, for the benefit of our patients and also how to communicate that to the world.Now we can ask ourselves as we go through our day, 'Am I accomplishing what I should be right now?' That keeps us all focused and on track. We are building better relationships with our patients and potential patients which allows us to share what we can provide for them. That translates into more satisfied customers who refer more satisfied customers. If this book can help a dental office it can help any business.

Very good book…! Very helpful information. I plan on reading it again. It has an abundance of information and exercises to help improve the learning.

I thought it was a book on inluence : I was wrong. This book has been written to help you make a good first impression, nothing more !But the writing is good and the advices clear and actionables.
