Do not go with this adapter. VGA to HDMI and vise versa is what the smart guys call an "active conversion" and needs to be powered. HDMI has the ability to transmit power, aka PoHDMI. But VGA does not have this capability, and VGAtoHDMI would not work with this cord. If your monitor did not have the VGA port, we could point you towards some other options. But for you, a simple VGA cable will suffice with no noticeable loss of quality.
