Careful about the price Amazon will screw you!!!
I actually canceled my auto order because the price discount for having it in auto order went up to around $10 more than just buying it out right. Buyer beware, even if an auto reoccurring order initially has a discount, pay attention that it isn’t hiked up beyond the normal price, which by definition is never a discount. This product is otherwise the best I have ever seen for a dog. It does make a mess on anything what so ever and I have over 35 years experience with dogs. This is the first bone that doesn’t stain or leave a mess around the house except for any little bits that your pets may choose not to eat.

These are a gamble
I initially purchased these due to the cost of each; when I purchased they were $4/each. So, relative to price per item it seemed like a great choice. Reading the reviews I had my fingers crossed. I will say if you have an aggressive chewer, these may not be the best choice for you. Bully breeds would annihilate SOME of these, and some may be more suited. Essentially, these pressed rawhide bones are hit or miss. Some of the bones are just stuffed with other strips of rawhide and pressed into the bone mold with an outer rawhide casing. These particular bones are pooptastic and will come apart very easily and quickly. Others have a more sturdy composition when the rawhide strips are actually laid to construct the chew. I agree with another reviewer, that in the past, there were more easy to find QUALITY pressed rawhide that stunk to high hell but lasted an amazingly long time. These just aren't those. Still a good price at $4 each. I don't think I will re-purchase at a higher price due to the inconsistent composition of the pressed rawhide in the ten pack.

Dogs refused every bone in the packet
We have purchased these bones several times. Typically the dogs will refuse 1 bone in the pack, our dogs refused every bone in this last pack or briefly chewed on one then stopped and won't go back. We even put peanut butter on them to try to entice, they only lick off the peanut butter. We won't be buying these again. Something is wrong with them.

Just fine
I don't normally write reviews, but after reading all the bad ones of this product, I felt I needed to say that these are just fine. I've ordered them several times and my Labradors, who are ferocious chewers, love them. I do freeze them and set a timer, and then re-freeze them. No problems.

I like the pressed rawhide because they last longer and they ...
This is about the 10th time I have ordered these for my two large dogs. I like the pressed rawhide because they last longer and they can't bite off large pieces they can swallow whole or choke on. I am convinced that by offering these chews to my boys, I have avoided costly dental cleanings at the vet. Their teeth "look like puppy teeth" (quote from my veterinarian). One dog is 6 and the other is almost 10. The almost 10 yr. old was adopted at age 6 and his teeth have improved tremendously since we got him. These bones are formed with only steam and rawhide, not with formaldehyde or lye like some of the bones from China. I can give these treats to my dogs with confidence and they love them.

Great!
I’ve got two large Alaskan Malamutes. Male 130 lbs and a female 90 lbs. These dogs are of the temperment where I can pull out one of these, and they will take turns consuming it one and off few are few days before it is gone. The key to any of these types of rawhide bones is IF you have a dog that can’t wait to swallow a piece before spending any time chewing it to soften it up, then any compressed rawhide bone that is 10” or 12” is probably a poor choice for your dog. I’ve been buying the 12” bones for two years now and will continue to do so. These things are GREAT!

inconsistent product quality
Update update 01-22-2015 - Switched to Complete Natural Nutritio Terrabone Regular size. It is compressed brown rice made in USA and the dog and his cousin dogs love them. And... they last just as long as these did without me having to worry about him ingesting too much rawhide.**UPDATE** - Problem~ I have been ordering at least two shipments a year of these bones but my most recent order of these bones was a disaster! The bones are now only half as thick, tossed in a box without any of the former shrink wrapping of each bone and have bits of sticker all over them. They look like they were bought on a remainder sale and someone else's product stickers were badly removed. I am sending them back immediately. The dog would be able to bite thru these much thinner bones in a very short time. I have noticed an terrible consistency problem with products provided by this seller. You receive different quality of product from one shipment to the next. I will have to find a new provider. My lab can demolish a regular rawhide bone in a matter of an hour or so. Those huge 24" knotted rawhide bones as big as your forearm? They don't even last two days with him. This took three days of SOLID chewing. Since he has to be chewing on something... this is a good value for him and he seemed to really like it. I like that it did not end up in miltiple pieces like the knotted rawhide bones AND since he had to work harder on it, he ingested much smaller pieces of rawhide and a lot less overall volume. inconsistent quality

So nice to have them on hand
Our dog chews on these each day. Although they take a while for her small Collie jaws to get through, they are one of her favorite things. She needs the long 12" kind because the smaller ones are just too small for her to hold in between her paws for a long time. Most of the time when we go to the store, they either don't have the long ones, don't have the pressed (they last so much longer and are better for their intestines) or they are more than $10 ea. Finally, we got smart and decided to just keep them on hand in a bucket in the basement. They were also nice to have on hand as last minute gifts for my sister-in-laws dogs when they came for a visit. Nothing worse than having 3 big dogs and only one bone.
