Stylish Wraps Sewing Book: Ponchos, Capes, Coats and More - Fashionable Warmers that are Easy to Sew

I've been a sewer for years and then I took a very long break. However, that didn't stop me from continuing to buy fabric. This year I decided to do something about the fabric and started sorting through my old patterns and made some old favorites which barely put a dent in the pile of fabric. Yet I still wanted something different and I was surprised by how few sewing patterns are now available at the fabric stores. Plus what is being offered are sooooo mundane and BORING. So one night I was perusing Amazon and saw Shape Shape. Based on the cover I went ahead and ordered it along with this book and a couple other similar books. Well, this one arrived today. After checking it out, I can only see myself making about half the patterns. The designs are original and the layouts easy to follow. I've already picked out a few patterns to go with material all ready on hand. There is one pattern that I'm going to see if I can modify it to suit my needs. Time will tell.

The instructions are quite easy to follow. I'm a beginner, and I had no problem making a beautiful coat dress following the illustrations. The smallest size is 7 which is slightly too big for an XXSP. (Another book, Stylish Dress Book: Wear With Freedom, also by Yoshiko Tsukiori, provides patterns for size 6.)The book also includes instructions for knitted accessories, not just the wraps/coats. There are so many items I want to make from this book!

The first item I made what is the poncho on the cover. You have to be comfortable transferring her patterns onto pattern paper to create your own copy of the pattern. But I must say every single time I wear this poncho outside someone complements me on it. I even had a woman who tried to commissioned me to sell one for her!

The stylish wraps book is, of course, lovely,, it also arrived very quickly,,, but I’m very disappointed wth the high shipping fee

I tried to make one of the ponchos for my grandma and I followed all the directions but it turned out terrible.

I used this book forpatterns and instructions to make some wraps to use for Christmas gifts. The book provided easy instruction that were both easy to make and stylish.

I was disappointed. I expected more variety of capes.

I'm a beginner at dressmaking and this book is perfect for me. I have made the poncho on the cover and love it! Am going to make the Cape next. The only problem is that sizing only goes up to 12.

Lovely designs and clear instructions. But patterns only go up to 37” (93cm) bust size.
