Singing Lessons for Little Singers : Level A - Very Young Beginner Series

Yes! Now I don't have to create this resource myself!
I recently started teaching very young beginning voice students and have been looking for materials which incorporate basic singing skills, ear-training and readiness for reading music notation. I can already see this as a great tool for each student to have. It includes activities for class, student/parent participation between lessons and songs to learn which complement the instruction materials. Some songs are even the author's own original works. This is designed to be used as a workbook/coloring book/at home participation tool in conjunction with a class or private lesson setting, requiring a copy for each student to be most effective. I have no problem recommending this product to my students' families and they have no problem using it.

Great Lessons
A friend asked if I would give her young daughters (ages 5 and 9) vocal lessons. I am very musical but not trained in music education, so it was important to me to find a program that could walk me though teaching voice. This book was a great help! The lessons are fun and teach key components of singing such as correct posture, correct breathing, matching pitch, etc. It uses physical movements to help teach the concepts. The free downloadable CD tracks were also very helpful. I highly recommend this product.

I’m a teacher
I’m using this book for a 1st grader wanting voice lessons and she seems to be loving it. It was a little confusing at first but it made sense. There is teacher resources in the back of the book as well! Little activities for the child to do. It makes voice lessons fun!

a valuable resource for teaching very young children to sing!
As a voice teacher I can highly recommend this and the next book in the series. This resource is very valuable for little children( age 4 and up) who want to sing but have undeveloped ear. Exercises in this book are geared towards developing good breathing techniques, overall intonation, (matching tones sung by by teacher, exploring the range of the kids voices). Mister Blankenbehler, please, we need a book like these for the teens!

Pretty good book
This is a decent book with ideas for lessons plans, activities and songs to use for very young singers, primarily it seems for preschool age. I am needing materials and additional ideas for young school age children so it was too simplistic for my needs, but still probably good for what it is intended.

Great supplement for voice lessons!
Great supplement for voice lessons! I use this as part of my curriculum for all of my young private students. I love how it introduces the fundamentals of singing, but it's done in a way that their young minds can understand. I also love that introduces sight reading, rhythm, and ear training too.

and I find this book to have wonderful ideas for young singers
I teach music classes for our homeschool group, and I find this book to have wonderful ideas for young singers. This book is geared toward ages 4-7, and the next book is geared toward older elementary age students. I have found both books to be developmentally appropriate and fun for their target audience, so I would recommend them to anyone.

Winning Vocal Series for Children
My voice students, used with ages 5-7 so far, love this book and its songs. Too often, when I meet teens, they tell me they just sang songs in their childhood voice lessons, doing no muscle building breathing or vocal exercises, and therefore didn't really advance. Their poor parents just paid for them to go to choir! If a parent can't put in 10 minutes a night, 5 nights a week, with a child to do these fun, simple, exercises and songs, they should not be putting their children in music lessons to begin with. At age 7, I was practicing the piano 30 minutes a night. Otherwise, it would have taken me 40 years to become the pianist I am. In voice, you are a vocal athlete. Singing just showcases to the audience where your muscles are built to...you need to do breathing and vocal exercises, at least every other day, to build those muscles to become a better singer. This is the first youth course I have seen in 25 years that mirrors the awesome results I have seen in the accelerated vocal program I developed for my teens and adults after training on the forefront of the music industry.

music technique in a fun way
Using this with years one and two in a classroom setting. Like the games which teach correct posture and breathing in a fun and memorable way. Their lesson plans can be done easily in 30 minutes and I can change the pace as I wish. All it needs is a recorder or glockenspiel to pitch the notes.

An excellent companion to the 3 in 1 method book for Little Singers
Bought as a companion to the 3 in 1 method book, this is already a valuable resource in my teaching practice. With innovative songs and drawings to make the whole process fun, I am achieving excellent results with my 'little singers'!
