I highly suggest you download the product app (SoundWise) and update the firmware first and ensure you are running the most recent version of iOS (10.3.3).I initially had a defective unit, but the seller's Customer Service department quickly sent me a replacement.After testing it out with my Sony MDR-1A and even my Sennheiser HD 600 (300 ohm), the AMP/DAC sounds clean & clear, with no distortion, and tight defined bass. The controls work flawlessly and the app is great for adjusting the AMP power, especially if you need the extra juice to drive audiophile grade headphones which generally are 50+ ohm.Completely blows away the stock adapter that comes with the iPhone. The sound is so much more vibrant and just overall richer.

I got these because I wanted to use my own headphones which doesn't have a lightning cable attached to it. Hence, this adapter. I also wanted to upgrade from the usual dongle that Apple provides with the iPhone 7.Anyway, the sound I'm getting from these are great. The boost in the bass from the dB Magix app really improves the quality quite a bit. However, the deal breaker for me is that it's not practical when you're on the move. Another reviewer on here had written that it's not very pocketable and he was right. When attached to the iPhone, I can't fit the whole thing in my pants pocket. The unit is so long that it extends out of my pocket and even worse, it hangs at a 90 degree angle and sticks out like a sore thumb! I just feel foolish walking down the street with this hanging out there for everyone to see. And I dare not fold it in because the skinny wire in between is the weakest point and it doesn't inspire confidence to manipulate it in any way. Keeping the cable straight means having to hold the iPhone in your hand while listening to music which kinda defeats the purpose of having mobility in the first place.My only alternative now is to get one of those external amplifiers that you have to attached to your iPhone with a rubber band. It's much more cumbersome but the longevity and stability of it is the selling point for me. This one doesn't work for me and back it goes.

Really works to stop the popping of my Bose sound cancelling ear buds with my iPhone 7. I bought the Bose ear buds and was SO disappointed with the clicking/popping sound I was ready to return them. I found this little device and figured I'd give it a try -it works great! You have to download the app to your phone, but I can control the audio of my phone from this attachment (not from the headphone controls). I'm not excited about the added cost just to get my already expensive earbuds to work, but I'm happy with the end result

I bought this as I wanted a more robust converter than the Apple one and I had a belkin dual converter and charger that was rubbish and split within a month on the cable. I used Tidal high res and I also have a oppo ha2-se headphone amp but I often don’t want to use it at work due to its bulk and the fact that at work I am often on calls where I use a pair of Bose qc20. I wanted something that had good audio performance and was robust. This is an awesome piece of kit. The metal casing and connector is robust, the controls work well but the most impressive part is the sound. The difference from the other converters is amazing. It has such depth, clarity and of course volume. The key ring attachment is another great idea as these converters are often lost and it often remove it to use the headphone amp for longer trips.Just get it. It is well worth it

I usually take my time before writing reviews but this time, I’ve had this product not 30 minutes and new I was ripped off. This “amp/dac” does boost the sound when using the app...very slightly, however you lose clarity. The bass was boosted but flat. Sounded like someone was tapping on the business end of a stethoscope. Not how I want to enjoy my music. I tried this with two different AKG headphones and my K182 which usually hand bass better without being over powered sounded like knock off flea market cans. Secondly, the first time I went to u plug this from my iPhone, the sleeve from the lightning jack came undone. Poor...very poor build quality. I wasn’t expecting a tank but at $59.99 I didn’t expect them to fall apart after the first use. Needless to say these are going back.

i enjoy the sound quality improvement using the dB Magix on my iPhone 7 Plus. Easy to use, 3 levels to use - none, 50% and max. I leave it on max all of the time. I listen to podcasts, and Howard Stern on SiriusXM. Much improved clarity of sound rather than just connecting the Shure 535 cable to the iPhone

I did an experiment and connected the db MAGIX AC3 from my iPad Pro's lightning port to my Audio Research 5SE Preamp Aux In-1 of my HIgh Fidelity system. The result is noticeably better music than using the iPad's headphone output in the same way. This is a handy and good quality device.

This DAC expands the soundstage while adding warmth and low end accuracy to my lossless files and frequently resembles the dynamics I hear playing vinyl records on my Pro-Ject Debut III. B&W/iPhoneX

愛用のiFi AudioのDACポタアンは外出時がさばる。かといってiPhone x付属のDACケーブルは音があまりに不満。それで本器はデザインも良く筐体もアルミで作りが良いしリモコンにもなり価格も手ごろなので購入。音は付属のDACケーブルよりは特にDレンジの点で多少改善が認められた。しかし音質的にはiFiAudioのDACポタアンには到底及びません。心配なのはライトニングコネクタと本体を結ぶケーブルの強度が心配なのと、もう少し長いほうが使い勝手が良いように思います。

デカいポータブルアンプを持ち歩くのはイヤだったのでこちらを購入しました。OPPOのポタアンと比べると高音が滑らかですが低音はすこしぼやけるかな。コスパとサイズが良いです。

Amazonで購入iPhoneXで使用。ライトニングとアンプの間にある1.5センチくらいの所が脆そう。ここを強度上げるためにメッシュ仕上げとかにしていれば満点だった。

iPhoneXで使っています。ヘッドホンアンプはずっと気になっていたものの、高級機は気軽に試せない値段のうえに、サイズ感もスマホと同じかそれ以上と、ハードルが高く見送っていました。最近ちらほらとこのくらいのサイズ感のヘッドホンアンプを見かけるようになり、このサイズ感なら気軽に持ち運べそうなこと。気に入って使っていたイヤホンがiPhoneのヘッドホン端子廃止によりライトニングアダプタ経由でしか使えなくなったこと（イヤホンが黒なのでアダプタの白が目立ってカッコ悪いうえにアダプタが邪魔…）どうせアダプタ使うなら、そこに代わりにヘッドホンアンプかませば良いのでは？と思い、お値段も手頃だったため購入しました。結果、これは大正解でした。デザインと質感は予想以上に良いです。しっかりした金属感のある筐体で、ボタン類もしっかりしています。音質については、最初アプリを入れずに聴いてみてしまい、あれ？と思ったのですが、専用アプリ「SoundWise」をダウンロードしてHi-Fi設定をONにしたところ、劇的に音質が良くなりびっくりしました。全ての音域で音の粒度がきめ細やかに鮮明になります（アプリをかまさないと音質変化はほぼ実感できないので注意）対応周波数的に完全なハイレゾ対応ではありませんが、ハイレゾ音源もまだそこまで一般化していませんし、持っている楽曲もハイレゾでないものがほとんどの中、既存音源でお手軽に音質アップを愉しめる商品としてはとても良いものだと思います。ライトニング接続部分もそこまでゴツくないので、ケースをつけていても干渉しません。Apple MFI認証を受けているのも安心材料のひとつ。ちなみに音楽プレイヤーはこの商品を使うようになってから、KORGの「iAudioGate」を使っています。このアプリ自体でもかなり音質が向上するので、組み合わせるとかなり劇的な音質向上体験がありました。不安点としては、iPhoneに挿してiPhoneをパンツのポケットに入れていると、アンプ部分の自重でコードが垂れ下がる感じになり、ここのコード部分が断線しないか？というところはあります。今のところ大丈夫そうですが、コードに負荷がかからないよう胸ポケットに入れたり、ちょっと気を遣ったほうが良いかもしれません。総じて、デザインも機能面もコスパの高い良い商品でした。

スマホとしては音質は充分かと思いました。保証書がないけど、故障時はメーカーにメールすれば修理対応してくれるのかな。
