The hdmi added plug in is a nice feature. Where I live
The setup for this was simple. The reach of the antenna cord was just enough for my use(8'-9' max..it's definetely not a 13.2 ft wire). The hdmi added plug in is a nice feature. Where I live, As the product advertises hundreds of channels, I was only able to get 12 channels total (I do have it hooked to a 4k rated tv- a smart tv) Only 3 channels are 1080p, the rest are a mix of 780p and 420p(mostly older people older comedy sitcom shows-not for me). It is ok for 24$ price. I would be happier with more than 12 channels but, it is what it is. I did have a major cable company with 200 channels but the price was ridiculous per month. I only watched 5 channels of that in hd viewing. This antenna unit is pretty nice overall. I would recommend one for anyone who is tired of the cable company rippn you off. This antenna, I saw maybe 3 channels of interest. It is like satilite tv though. The picture freezes some and blips from time to time like a satilite viewing is.

Poor packaging, missing part, still worked
I bought this and the box came already opened due to poor packaging. All it would have taken was like 2 more pieces of tape to secure the packaging, so that was disappointing. It was missing the signal boosting piece (it likely fell out in transit). I plugged in into my tv anyways and still got about 15 channels so that was impressive. I am returning it and getting a new one. If I like the new one, I will likely revise this review.Update: I returned the one with a missing part and ordered a new one. This one did come with the signal boosting piece. However, I found that the reception was not really any better with the piece added than it was before. Still a good buy for the money., however, I shouldn't have to deal with missing parts. I was contacted by the seller a week later offering to replace the part. I've updated the review from 3 stars to 4.

Wow this thing is a beast. I returned one of the other amplified antennas from here - the pointed one for $16 - that couldn't get even 6 channels in Queens, NYC. The long coaxial cable on this allows me to situate it in my window well away from the TV. I attached it to the curtain rod with electrical tape. I scanned a few times and got 79 channels! Not all of them watchable, desirable or with adequate reception, but more than enough for the local stations and digital on air movie channels. The power supply connector is at the base of the assembly so it does not limit where you can place the antenna. Plugs right into one of the USB ports on my Smart TV.

Don't waste your time with this one!
Crap! It didn't work and I knew it just by looking at the packaging. It didn't come in it's own box. It was just in a shipping box with a small slip of vague instructions. Mine didn't come with any Velmaz branding so I believe I received a knockoff product. Either way I returned it because it didn't work. I have stations within 20 miles of my home, and this is a 50 mile antenna but it pickup nothing! It's trash. Don't waste your money.

I had a 30 yr. old rabbit ears antenna ...
I had a 30 yr. old rabbit ears antenna and often I would lose several stations on a regular basis. So, I bought the HDTV Antenna. After trying it in every window in the house and at different heights plus on various walls at different heights, I gained 2 new stations and lost 4 and channels kept going in and out. I did this well over a period of a month. I hadn't been that frustrated in a while. My house is up on a hill out in the country and I can see 20 miles of farm land. So, there's not much to interfere between me and stations that are 30 miles away. So, I bought a rotating antenna from Walmart for $24.00 and put it in the attic and I receive many channels and I'm very satisfied. So, I have an antenna for sale since I went passed the Amazon deadline.

Good and cheap
I was very surprised with this antenna. It actually works better in my basement than my mohu leaf 25 works upstairs. This is without using the amplifier. I drilled two holes in the top corners to hang it. The coax cord is very thin and the build quality is a little cheap but it's hidden behind my tv and it pulls in every capable channel where I live. I am about 20 miles from most stations in a river valley.

I bought this so that we would not loose communication in case of any emergencies like a hurricane
I was really surprised that it picked up so many channels. I know we had about 80 or so. I bought this so that we would not loose communication in case of any emergencies like a hurricane. The picture is really (HD) bclear and reception is really good. Most of the channels were in other languages, but the news stations all came in great which is what I needed. Plus they had some old re-run stations which I could have watched for hours (Grit TV). Worth the money if the cable goes out.

Nearly worthless
Didn't come with a booster or a cord of any kind no adhesive it was pretty much nothing. I get about six channels and I have two other flat panel antennas that get at least 30 channels. And cost about the same.
