BEST VACUUM I'VE EVER OWNED
This is without a doubt the best vacuum I've purchased in my 50 plus years of owning and using vacuums, and I've owned quite a few different vacuums from the inexpensive to the ultra expensive. One of my favorite vacuums has been the K***y primarily for it's suction power and deep cleaning abilities, but at age 72 that vacuum was becoming way to heavy for me to handle and, with two long hair dogs, a real chore to keep the roller brush clean. So I did the logical thing (LOL) and bought and tested several Robot vacuums that claimed to be tangled free and capable of picking up long hair. Huumm... Sure they do...NOT. In all fairness the Robot vacuums do a great job on hardwood floors, but if you've got rugs or carpets and pets, forget it. I did keep two different brands of Robot Vacs, one for upstairs and one for down stairs, but I still needed to vacuum the area rugs with a conventional vacuum 3 times a week.Which brings me to the Shark PowerDetect. It works, it just plain works as advertised. Powerful when needed, swivel head works like a charm, glides over hard floors, basically self propelled across rugs and most importantly for me, picks up long dog hair without getting tangled in the brushes. Is the Shark PowerDetect perfect? Hardly...it's still on the heavy side but easier to maneuver especially on hard floors than my K***y. On carpets the darn thing can actually run away from you if you're not careful (the trick is to walk with it rather than using your arm to pull it back and forth or use a lower speed/suction, which kinda defeats the PowerDetect function). My dogs long hair does get trapped (not tangled) at the top of the dust bin rather than settling on the bottom, so I have to open both the bottom and the top dust bin trap doors, which means you will have to touch whatever you vacuumed up along with your dogs hair in order to remove it from the top of the bin.Would I recommend the Shark PowerDetect? ABSOLUTELY!My dream vacuum would be for Shark to develop a Robot Vacuum with the same dual roller system as the PowerDetect and powerful enough to vacuum carpet and rugs, picking up dog hair, self emptying (no Bags), and of course mops. Fingers crossed.

Worth buying! Will buy again!
Love this vacuum. My friend has two large short haired dogs. I was dog sitting for three days and got to use her vacuum (older model). The suction of hair off the floor was astonishing! I went home and ordered mine. It took 10-15 min for me to assemble. I plugged it in an off I went! The suction was again, astonishing. I vacuumed my shag carpet in the living room and ended up with a full tank! I used the tools to vacuum my patio furniture. The suction was still great but it was awkward to maneuver. I kept accidentally pressing other buttons (high carpet, low carpet, floor) because of the placement. I don’t have that issues when I vacuum. Also, the canister is wobbly when separated from the base. I don’t know why, but it topples every time I try to use it without holding the canister with my free hand. I feel like I’m at war with the canister when it’s free from the base. This makes it frustrating, but if I hold the handle in my left hand and use the vacuum in my right there are no issues. I’d buy this again, for sure! The vacuum is heavy if it’s on auto detect because it’s really sucking hard. But if it’s on a different mode it’s easy to push. I love everything about this! My carpets look new and in the shag, sometimes there are peoples of dirt O can’t see, but they securely get sucked up! I love the side suction and suction froward and backward. My favorite feature, because I have long hair and I shed too, it pulls the hair into its own compartment and wraps it up into a spool for discard. It won’t lock up the roller. I have found a ton of my hair! I vacuum my bathroom floors too…so much easier than sweeping the hair. If I can find their handheld that does this for hair…I’ll buy one! This is an amazing purchase and easy to maintain.

Sharks are the best
Favorite vacuum I’ve used. I’ve been a fan of Shark vacuums for years but this is my absolute favorite so far. The price is a bit steep but found it while it was on sale so that helped. The vacuum itself is a little heavy but is good quality and can stand getting knocked around a little bit. It picks up on carpet and hard wood super well. I love that you can take the large dust collector off to reach under small spaces. My 2 other favorite features are the self cleaning brush and the scent minimizer. They both work extremely well and will definitely want them in any future vacuums I end up with. Sharks are hard to beat
