A wonderful Tide of Glory an Honor
I couldn’t recommend a book more. It’s action packed and filled with beautiful pictures or mystery and awe. It’s a must read for anyone whom started the novels out of inspiration from Space Marine 2. It paints Tyranids as a liquid. A tide of claws devouring everything in their path. Yet different in their fear, form and firepower. Give it a read you won’t be dissatisfied.

The Scythes continue to bleed
An interesting view of a Chapter, in a lot of ways the initial short story is the best of the book. A peek behind the curtain of the self-deceit of the Imperium. And a poor unfortunate Astartes who has lived too long. The novel shows the continued disintegration of the Scythes' and the deceit at the heart of it.The later short stories were a mixed lot to me.You never quite know what you are getting with the Space Marine Battle line, but I thought this was a worthy pickup

Great book! Shipped fast!
This was a really good book, written well and about a Space Marine chapter that is very interesting. They have a very tragic history and this book covers a lot of what came before and what transpires now. What this is starts with a short story, then a novel, then ends with four more short stories. This was really good and make you despise Tyranids more than you did already. This was shipped quickly and arrived in great shape!Danny

Lots of action and some subterfuge
This book sets the groundwork for future stories. The short stories that are included in this compilation are fun but too short to be short stories in my opinion.

The Scythes of The Emperor have a cool name and terrible leaders.
But they are just the least intelligent chapter I can think of. They make the Soul Drinkers look like paragons of higher intellect. There is no dumber Chapter Master in the Imperium than theirs. I don't want to say the book is poorly written but I do think the characters were shallow and ultimately fools from start to finish. I hope the chapter wasn't intentionally written badly, they have fans though. Not a re-read for me and really only in the collection to be there.

A stinker....
If you are a true fan of the 40k universe, you can do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one. Nothing is more agitating than an author who knows absolutely nothing about his subject matter. Ugh

A Chapter facing extinction
This is a somewhat original Space Marines Battles title made up of one (short) novel (Slaughter at Giant’s Coffin) and five short stories (the last being only five pages) build around it. The general frame if the coming and invasion of the Tyranid Hive Fleet Kraken, and the stubborn but rather doomed attempts of the Scythes of the Emperor Space Marines Chapter to hold their ground against them.As usual and as expected from Space Marines Battles titles, you can expect lots of fighting left, right and centre, and lots of heroic deeds and sacrifices. The main original feature is to show the military blunders of a superhuman Chapter’s Master who, because of these and because of his stubbornness, and aggressiveness, almost condemns his Chapter to extinction. An entertaining read worth four stars.
