Hattie and the Fox (Classic Board Books) Board book – Picture Book, September 27, 2016

This was always one of my grandchildren's favorites. I just bought the board book for a great-grandchild due in the spring! Watch the little one's eyes as you are reading. Such excitement waiting to see what comes next.I often would memorize the books so when we were in the car they could hold the book in the back and hear me read from the driver's seat. Such great memories!

there is no story line. it was so boring for me that i had to return :). love the illustrations though. really nice. but i returned. i think an older child (2-4) would enjoy more than my 12 MO son because there is a hidden fox but we arent there yet

I'm a teacher and this book will fit in perfectly with our barnyard sequence!

My son has been wanting this book for quite some time now he loves this book and I love it too and the quality of the book is great

Wish they had a Big Book Hardbound. My wife had one when she taught, it got wet when we moved and she wanted to replace it. This book is nice and will work but the Hardbound copy was much easier to hold and use for class or group reading. PS MY WIFE AND THE KIDS LOVE HATTIE11

Hattie is my go to gift for all the three year old birthday parties we have attended this year.-Great illustrations (my daughter loves pointing out the parts of the fox that you can see in the bushes)-Nice repetition-Clever story with a little lesson at the end-Part when the cow says MOOOO, is a great time to be loud and silly

I read this book to my son, and just bought it again to read to my granddaughters! It was my son’s favorite. He could recite it word for word! ❤️

I absolutely love this book. I lost my first copy so replaced it. It is a story that can be read over and over again. It can even be acted out with puppets in the classroom because it is similar to The Little Red Hen, in that the kids can remember their lines very easily. The artwork is wonderful...a paper collage with ink details. Check the faces out at the end. Tooooo cute! I consider it a classic.

Plot spoilers ahead! Ignored by those around, our hero hen insists that her fears are acted upon and the foxes - out to remove from society and for their own pleasure, all that is held to be of value - must be stopped. The foxes are weakly opposed and a lack of balanced reporting means the farmyard is all but unaware of the impending doom that faces all. Only in the last gasps are the foxes (and pigs) stopped from doing their worst.A book for our times.

I like these kinds of children's books for the artwork. This has very nice simple artwork indeed - vague - yet beautiful.The story as always has the Fox as the bad guy - he sneaks up on Harriet (who for some reason I keep wanting to call `Henrietta') the hen, who, despite her warnings to the other farm animals is ignored until the very last minute!A lovely book whose paperback edition I'd purchased in error thinking it was the `board' copy which if buying for children you will most certainly need, as the pages here are EXTREMELY thin... (almost transparent in that you can see shades of the pictures on the other sides!)Lovely book though!

Hattie and the Fox is a book that I used when I was teaching. It is an excellent " build up " story for three to six year olds . All my grandchildren have loved it because they can help " read " it very quickly and ask for it often or read it to themselves.

Classic Mem Fox book with wonderful illustrations. Be warned though - once you have read it a few times, you will not be able to get it out of your head!
