Did everything I wanted it to, but came with a side effect that makes me hate it.
This did exactly what I needed it to do. Hooked it up to a DisplayPort on the back of my GTX 1070TI GPU and connected the other end to my HDMI only monitor. Wonderful. However, I ended up changing monitors to one with a DisplayPort as well but continued to use the HDMI port. That's okay, wasn't a problem... until I noticed the monitor wouldn't go to sleep. Pressing the power button isn't a big deal for most, but I have this as one of my cables in a triple monitor setup and the arm the monitor is on is a gas strut that moves when I press the button.Bottom line: I'm replacing it with a cable that allows the monitor to go to sleep naturally... aka DisplayPort to DisplayPort. Bummer.

Come on DELL!
This product is just what my DELL computer needed. Bought a gaming computer with a 1070-Ti GPU, great powerful computer but only one HDMI port. There are plenty of DP ports, so off to Amazon I went. Found these hooked them up to monitors (HDMI) and to the back of the tower (DP) and bam! we have video!!

Went out after a week of use.
So I ordered one of these to go from my computer to my TV. Computer only had extra display ports so I figured hey this will work. It did. For a week. Then it went out on me. Spend a few more dollars and get a better brand cable. I was likely unlucky but I'll not be getting another of this brand.

Did not work
I waited several months to try this cable and unfortunately it did not work. Bought a cable at Best Buy and it worked, confirming I bought a defective cable. Getting to be a pattern with cables bought at Amazon and their Third Party vendors.

this cable doesn't work with 2 of monitors i tried, so the result is return it.tried other adapter, then adapter works.
