Calamari Tenkasu Tempura Bits 10.58 Ounce (300g), Authentic Japanese Snack by Swashbuckle Snacks, Made in Japan

So, there's this korean brand nongshim that makes udon with these little tempura balls. It's a bit too salty for me but I love these things so I bought this to throw in with different udons and it's exactly what I wanted. Awesome in asian soups. It's probably fine to eat solo as well, they have a light shrimp flavor.

I bought this for the okonomiyaki party I was having for our family after our trip to Japan. The product works well in our recipe and tastes great. I think it's a little pricey for buying a bag of "tempura dripping leftovers", but my recipe doesn't call for a lot to be mixed into the batter so the bag should last for awhile. The Tenkatsu has a slight seafood odor, but it isn't unpleasant.

These are fine and a great value. Disregard those reviews that mention a "fishy taste" as though it is a bad thing. That's how tenkasu is supposed to taste. Tenkasu are often made with dried squid, and it is one of the ingredients in this one (the last one). It has a very slight dried squid flavor, and it is supposed to be that way. It's obviously fine if folks don't like the authenic taste, but it's not a flaw. It's not an accident from the oil they were cooked in. But if you like real tenkasu and authentic flavor, these are great. Perfect for okonomiyaki.

We thought these were a bit expensive, but all similar items were vastly different and completely inferior. If you need tempura bits, these are the only ones you'll want...and I need to order more again... I suggest getting at least two bags per order.

I often use tenkasu for various cooking at home, and it's convenient to keep some in my fridge all the time. Tastes good.

I take the blame for ordering quickly and not realizing these are squid flavored. Which was pretty icky. If you want a weird food to torture your kids, this is a good option. If you’re looking for tempura flakes for, say, homemade sushi, this ain’t it.
