Vintage Bi Plane Wall Clock - 6 Hanging Hooks & Secret Storage Compartment

My Dad LOVED it!!! I purchased this plane which was for my Dad - a retired airplane instructor, for Father's Day. In the morning I put the wheels on myself (the only assembly required), with the help of the instructions included in the package, and put batteries in the back. I did need a Philips screwdriver to put the wheels on - but it wasn't difficult.One thing you don't realize with this plane is that the cylinder body is actually a cavity - so I thought it would be the perfect secret hiding hole for valuables! Unexpected extra surprize!My Dad is always losing his keys, so hopefully this will solve that problem as well!Anyway, my Dad absolutely loved it! Which is great because Dad's whom have everything are hard to shop for! But finding this perfect gift made it easy.

This item had such potential. It really is a unique and quality piece. Unfortunately it came damaged (one of the wing tips was bent downward & disfigured) and missing pieces (hardware for mounting the wheel base to the plane body).Since I knew what was in the amazon box I never opened it & simply wrapped the amazon box for Christmas. This meant I didn't see the issues until the recipient opened it on Christmas morning. That's on me I suppose, but for the price I expected more. There was no way the damage to the wing happened during shipping because the box it came in was in pristine condition and the metal framing of the wing is really solid, so it took some force to mangle it or it was a manufacturer's defect. We were able to somewhat bend the wing-tip back into position and find hardware to mount the wheels, so we made it work.If the item came in good condition & complete I feel it would be a 5-star item.
