Works but arrived LOCKED. **READ**
It’s only been a day but my washer is working. The install is pretty easy. I YouTubed an install tutorial. The part arrived and after I stalled it the lid would not close!! I was so frustrated, I spent the next hour or so going online trying to research what the problem could be. I was about to order an EOM part from the company (over $100 part) when I happen to see that the description said the part would arrive locked. I did further googling and I happen to find another review ( on a completely different Amazon store) that mentioned the same thing. And the following is his review, I just copied and paste it here and hopefully will help someone else and save you/them hours of frustration. I did exactly that and it unlocked and now my washer works fine. "My part did arrive in the locked position. THAT IS FINE. So what I did was install it as normal then needed to hold down the tab that detects the lid strike (left tab when installed). Either hold down the start/pause button long enough for the unit to unlock the part, or keep that tab pressed in and unplug and plug back in the washer unit to the wall outlet. Washer unlocked the assembly unit, and my washer was back to working."

Works great, but READ THIS for installation notes!
Our washer wouldn't even go into diagnostic mode so I tried replacing the main board first. When that didn't work, the cheapest item to replace was the lid latch and this worked perfectly. Some quick installation notes: Once you get the top of your washer off, slide the old latch to your right and one side will drop through the mounting slot. If it feels stuck, there's a little plastic keeping tab on the left side of where the latch mounts to the washer's lid - you can see it from underneath the washer's top, and you may need to pry or even destroy that tab (mine was really stuck). Reverse the process to put the new latch in. My new latch didn't have a strong enough tab to keep it in place, so I put a blob of hot glue on the right side of the latch to keep it from sliding back and forth. Once you get everything buttoned up, the latch may have come in a "locked" position - it's OK! Just plug in the washer, open the lid, and reach your finger underneath and manually move the little triggers (there are 2). The latch should unlock after that and you're good to go.

It somehow exceeded my expectations...
Bought to replace the OEM lock mechanism that had given up the ghost after about 10 years and fell into the common *click*click*click*click lock/unlock failure cycle of these style lock units. Since a few other repairs are needed to the machine, I rolled the dice on an economy quick fix for the lock since it only needed to last about a month before I could afford the full set of replacement parts and refurb the unit. Well, installation was easy, though that has more to do with the design of the washing machine than the replacement part. If fit as advertised would be a better way to put it. As far as the product; just don't. DO NOT BOTHER. Other reviews mention it lasting a handful of uses to a couple months before dying. That would've fit my timeline fine, and was all I needed out of this thing. It failed the same way the old OEM lock did when it hit the first rinse/spin cycle. Save yourself the $25 or whatever they are trying to sell this for at the time of reading this, brew yourself a cup of coffee or steep some tea, go to YouTube university and look up how to bypass one of these. It'll get you back in action for a lot less (and for a lot longer) than this replacement part. As far as a refund, well, I can either swap it for another of the same parts, or some sort of store credit; neither of which are worth my time to deal with. So, I ate the cost on this one. Your mileage may vary though; maybe you'll get a Wednesday model...

READ IF LID DOESN'T CLOSE!
PLEASE READ!!!!!!!! CAREFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I COPIED THIS FROM ANOTHER!!!! Sometimes this can come in the locked position already, so there's a little piece that blocks the lids latch from going in completely. when you try to close it!! This can cause it to look like it's the incorrect locking mechanism and that your lid won't fit, but this is NOT correct!! ------------ When you power up the machine, and hit start it will unlock & then the latch will fit!! I myself had to plug in the machine with the RED light flashing and hold the button when holding the switch and pushing in the 2 lock mechanics in while holding the button down then BAM it Unlocked! ------------ I also recommend doing this BEFORE you slide your entire washer lid back into place!! I also did the lid lock test in manual test mode just to double check!! MANY videos on YouTube about replacing this & ALLL of the hidden modes/ diagnostic testing within the machine!! This REALLY is a quick & simple fix... it works & is waaaayyy cheaper than a new washing machine!! + PS... unless it's broken.. you DO NOT need to buy a new the lid latch for it to work!! My original lid latch worked fine with the new lid lock!! Good luck!
