Teva Men's Hurricane XLT Sandal

I got in one shipment all in size mens size 11:Teva Obern 11Teva Toachi 11Teva Katavi 11Teva Hurricane 11Hurricane - these are very nice and highly adjustable because of the way the heel and mid-foot strapping integrates together. This was only true for the Hurricanes. It was possible to get them to fit quite comfortably, in spite of the material looking like it might be harsh, because of the way these can be adjusted for fit - and because the heel strap can ride very low on the heel vs. on the ankle.One thing I did not like in the Hurricanes was the velcro running all the way down to the sole of the shoe. For me, velcro picks up lint and fluff all the time and having that huge amount of excess ‘hook’ portion of velcro is not a good thing. I am certain that after a short time that would be just a mass of stuff picked up and stuck to the ‘hook’ velcro segment that is left exposed.I found, however, that for me the Katavi were more comfortable than the Hurricanes because of the extra strap padding and the mesh and padded panels. Because I don’t need them for water, the Katavi made better sense. The shape and foot fit of the beds was virtually identical for the Hurricane and Katavi. The Obern was close, but had a higher arch support and was more rigid and felt a bit narrower at the middle foot. I felt the arch support too much on the Oberns. The Toachi in contrast had an extremely narrow tread and footbed and my foot could not even fit on it.All of these were size 11 in mens - but they fit very differently.The Hurricane and Katavi are the most similar, and the Katavi with the extra side mesh panels and suede material for the strapping was much more comfortable with and without socks. The material used for the Hurricanes was not nearly as comfortable and the expose rings added to that feeling compared to the Katavi. The Hurricanes, however, I expect would handle being wet better than the Katavi and dry faster.

4.5stars.Buy these. I just came back from 12 weeks in Costa Rica. I wore them everyday. Literally everyday (except for 3 days in Monteverde, and one other day because I decided to wear my shoes. Break in period was quick. The straps never bothered me, but if worn tight they do rub some skin(didn't bother me, just noticeable). I hiked around Arenal, traversed pretty much the whole west and east coast. Swam in them. Climbed in them. Squatted 405 lbs for 3 reps at a gym in La Fortuna with them. Ran from the entrance at Manuel Antonio National park, all the way to playa Manuel Antonio beach and back in 12mins(roughly just under a mile each way). Carried a drunk friend on my shoulders from main drag Puerto Viejo to Rocking J's in them. Rode bikes, dirtbikes, and mopeds in them. Ziplined in them. Even got a job at a restaurant and wore them daily, serving drinks and making drinks in them. Needless to say, after all that abuse, they held up. Quite comfortable too. They run a half size large. When walking through streams and rivers I really strapped them tight. They slip a little on algae. Only reason not 5stars is the Velcro is starting to come undone slightly. But for the average person they'll be fine. I really abused these things and they held up. I was impressed.

This the first time in 20 years I have to replace my Tevas for any reason other than my dog thinking they were his chew toy (you don't want to know how many pairs he ate...) These sandals are coming apart, the foot pad is curling up and the sole is coming apart. It's like the glue they used to make this sandal is disintegrating all at once. I hope this is not a representation of the company's quality, this sandal is certainly not the standard of quality I have come to expect.

My husband wears these every day in the summer. After a few years, he wears out one pair and orders another. He's on his 3rd pair, but it has taken years of abuse to have to replace them.We hike and camp a lot, and with two little boys, we never know when we might end up in water.I did NOT receive this product free or at a discount in exchange for a review. I have always worn Teva's since discovering them the 90's because they were great At the beach, river or lake. Unfortunately, over the last few years quality has dropped significantly. Original Teva's would last for years until the tread literally wore out. My last 4 pairs have all had the sole come off before there has been any tread wear at all. The glue they are now using is not adequate for use in and around water as stated. My most recent pair was only used to walk thru the creek a few times before the sole became unglued - leaving me with yet another uncomfortable walk back to the car. They are no longer worth the money if you plan on getting them wet (which is supposed to be the purpose of the sandal). I have tried Shoe Goo to reattach the soles, but that never holds once they get wet again.

my husband doesn't like to wear flip flops, so these are a great beach sandal for him. he has large/very wide feet, and they fit him comfortably.

Good decision to buy these. They are extremely comfortable and I will using them on a Greek beach very soon. Would buy these again in a different colour as thy are truly brilliant

Comfy, light & stylish. a bit bigger than expected. I ordered a 9 but seem half a size too long ( how picky is that ) Very nice would buy again.

Good solid construction great for walking on holiday in the heat.Fit as expected can be adjusted simple design would recommend

My fathers really likes these sandals and when he was away on holiday, used them every day and found them very comfortable and perfect for his beach life!
