Great little habitats.
Great little habitats. We hatched several butterflies with these. They worked well and are easy to open and close. They also stand up well.

educational and fun
These little cages have zippered tops for feeding & releasing. They are easy to hose-down in between catches. They have made our 4 month project so much fun. We will be releasing our 20th butterfly this evening.

Multiuse for a lot of things
Guess I should have read the dimensions on this. They are super tiny, so I decided to use them for little garbage bins by the beds. Perfect for tissue during allergy season. They also make good snack organizers and small lego storage holders. Multiuse indeed. Lol We bought them for one thing & used them for other stuff. So while it didn’t quite workout to catch & keep butterflies due to the size, it came in super handy for things I didn’t expect. Happy with purchase.

It is what it is!
I've already used these a couple times. It's good for collecting & holding insects temporarily. It helps me temporarily house monarchs to protect them while they are growing!

Butterfly cages review.
Beautiful little pieces and well made. Nothing negative to say.

Unsafe for Caterpillars
If you love your monarch caterpillars (or any crawly creatures you might be nurturing or studying in a habitat), please don't buy this mesh habitat. I was excited about the size (medium), packaging (four of them together), and price (low) of these habitats, but the lower price unfortunately reflects lower quality. The seams are poorly and sloppily sewn, and one of our caterpillars crawled into an unsewn seam opening and got stuck. (see photo) I am returning these habitats and opting for something that costs a bit more with better quality control, to give our future caterpillars their best chance at becoming butterflies. (PS - I was able to trim around the seam to lift this caterpillar out, but at that point, the caterpillar was not in good shape, and did not survive, I'm sorry to report :( In our larger habitat, previously purchased from another brand, we have four chrysalids waiting to emerge, so there's some good news to share!)

Great for small groups of caterpillars
I just moved from an area where I was raising exclusively monarchs to an area where I can raise several species. These smaller cages are perfect for a small group of one species that you'd like to keep segregated or where you don't have enough of one species to justify an 18x24 popup for them. While I initially needed only one of these cages, I'm glad I got the 4-pack, because they're all getting lots of use! They're also small enough to be bleach-sanitized in a sink. We lost access to our laundry tub in the move so I'm glad these won't require me to take over the bathtub to clean.

Good quality
The quality on these small butterfly nets is really good. Easy to flatten down and hold with the attached material. I didn’t read the description and needed something larger, but these would be great if you had smaller bug projects.
