Great tape measures at a good price

Have always liked the models with metal cases, very good quality.

I like to keep a small tape in my pocket. A 12 ft tape is my preference, usually will measure anything I need unless I'm doing carpentry, which you just use a 25 ft for. My tape was getting very worn out so I punched in 33-212 into my Amazon search. The 1st thing to come up was a 3 pack of 33-312. I didn't catch it, so I ordered a 3 pack of tape measures I didn't really want. A 212 is ½ inch and a 312 is ¾ inch. A ½ inch tape is obviously preferable if you carry it in your pocket daily. I had to scroll down a fair amount to even find a 212 EVEN THOUGH THAT'S WHAT I WAS SEARCHING FOR. Idk, maybe Amazon has a pile of 312s they need to sell.

I really like the Stanley 12 foot tape measure, this is a great product. However, many years ago I purchased the this same tape measure and it came with an ABS plastic case instead of metal. At the time I thought it was cheap and light. Well, it has become my favorite, it is very light compared to an all metal case and the tape measure blade itself is very durable. I have about 4 of the metal case ones, I rarely need anything over 12 feet in my shop so why carry a big bulky tape measure. This add has conflicting terms, picture 5 and 6 state ABS plastic and others state metal case. I wish they had both as I want the lighter weight plastic and others like the metal case.

description says the case is metal… it is NOT product pics imply that the cases are abs(plastic) for someone that is very rough on tapes metal is very important!!I have had problems finding the metal cases at the orange and blue stores, so when the description said it was metal I added them to my cart before fully researching.on a positive note I can put the guts into the metal cases that I have worn out the tapesif you have metal cases that need new workings then they are OK for parts!
