These were nice and sturdy and very easy to assemble. Another reviewer mentioned hers had a sharp point in the corner of the padding, but I did not have any such problem with mine.The only complaint was that mine was missing one washer. Fortunately I had some spare washers so that was not a problem. If not, you can buy one at home depot for 8 cents.

This stool is well made, very stable, and looks great. Very easy to put together.

I do a lot of DIY projects. I built a dining table and dining chairs from olive wood 16 years ago and it is still beautiful and doing great. I built a coffee table 3 years ago from bamboo and it has endured the antics of a child that's 4 years old. My father is an Engineer and he taught me how to build things properly so they last for generations. I was going to make a stool like this so I have somewhere to sit down while I put my shoes on but my wife surprised me with this to "save some hard work."I am a fully grown adult who weighs 74 kilograms. I just use this to sit down and put my shoes on. I don't jump on it, kick it, or do anything harsh to it and it still broke after 2 weeks. There are stereotypes on the internet that things made in China are that of inferior quality and durability... and in this case, it's true.I suppose the description of this item should come with a disclaimer that says "this chair can only support the weight of a hamster "

I bought this in anticipation of an upcoming move. Unfortunately that meant that by time I found the defect it was too late to return it. One of the legs was absolutely unusable the grooves and the holes looked like it was for a different piece of furniture. So I am out the 60 bucks and I've left with a piece of junk.
