Living Landscapes: World's Most Beautiful Waterfalls [Blu-ray]

I have only had this on a few hours so far, but I would describe it as an absolute nirvana experience! The scenes are gorgeous, and I think the music and back-ground waterfall sounds are wonderful. I guess it would be better if it had the option of waterfall-sound only, without music, for those who don't like these styles of classical and new-age music, but I love the soundtrack as it is; I mean one of my all-time favorites! I also have a couple of sound-generator machines that produce waterfall sounds, and I may later try running those instead while watching this; referring to other reviews that complain about the sound track, if anyone doesn't like the sound track, they can listen to anything else they want by just turning the sound volume down; I mean if they are that picky about sound, they should have that additional equipment.The full 1080P resolution, lighting, and camerawork is superb.I could do without the brief scenes of Yosemite's Half Dome, because I've seen it many times, and it really doesn't have anything to do with waterfalls, other than there are waterfalls not far away from it. I guess some people associate waterfalls with Yosemite National Park, which has waterfalls and the Half Dome mountain/cliff, so I guess the video producers thought they would go together. I think Half Dome is interesting the first time one sees it, but not anywhere near as suitable for a leave-on background video as all the beautiful waterfalls. Anyway, the Half Dome scenes don't last long, so it's not a big problem, it just bugs me a little to include it in a waterfall video.If you want a wonderful background video to leave on, as opposed to a movie with narration to sit down and watch one time, this is one of the best I've seen and heard.

I own quite a few of these DVD's and I like to watch them as a substitute for actually being in the great outdoors at times when I can't be there. Many of them are so good they make you feel as if you're really there. This DVD has some unbelievably beautiful video of some of the world's most majestic waterfalls. Unfortunately the videographers, in most cases, were unable to capture the sound of the waterfalls. It's a shame. Because of this I don't want to watch this DVD. I think what happened is that they were getting zoomed in shots from a great distance from most of the falls and recorded the sound at the camera location. The video, however looks like you are right next to the falls. It needs to sound like you're right next to the falls to be realistic. If I were Living Landscapes, I would get down at the base of these falls, record the sound and rework this DVD.

High Quality video and sound. Most scenes are of large waterfall with white water and many with spray in the air. Most are probably recorded at good distance from the water. Good to relax with. There are options such as audio-video sync, repeat setting. Play/pause, menu access from within the viewing as well as the beginning. Has title search and chapter search.My opinion is that the large waterfalls are better looking on large screen televisions, just goes with the territory.It is all about waterfalls and i have only played it with natural sounds. Music is available. When selecting music or natural soundthe text color is very lite tint making the selection a pay-attention thing.Larry

I have a collection of HD Samplers and 3 of these samplers are my favorites. Waterfalls are of interest as landscape scenery.

This dvd is absolutely gorgeous, especially with only the natural sounds of the falls and the surrounding environment. There is also an option for music. Included are American falls such as Yosemite, Oregon, New Hampshire and Big Sur; plus waterfalls from Laos to name a few. It cycles around by itself so that even though it's 66 minutes long it can go as long as you want. On a blue ray player and a 32' LCD screen it is like having a window onto a beautiful vacation spot. Very relaxing. Highly recommended.

I got these videos to help me relax as I had just got out of the hospital and was bed srticken. It helped me to relax and feel like I was in a faraway place. The greatest thing is that you can use music to it or just the natural sounds, NO TALKING, it really made me feel like I was experiencing nature. Great seller would buy from this seller any time, sent in timely manner and was exactly as described as what I got.

I have had this running for 2 days now on a 60" Plasma and I love it. The colors and contrasts in these waterfalls is breathtaking. One of the one star reviews said that they wanted to see some other waterfalls, which is fine, but that's no reason to put this one down. They use a lot of panoramas in the afternoon when the light is just right. It will calm your nerves.

While the Living Landscapes series overall provides first class video quality, the content of this production is a disappointment.Most of the waterfalls shown were relatively unimpressive and localized rather than truly the "World's Most Beautiful Waterfalls."The content should have included Victoria Falls in Africa, Iguazu Falls in Brazil, Angel Falls in Venezuela as well as world class waterfalls throughout the world based on research and input from travelers and others.A more accurate title for the production would be "Scenic Waterfalls."
