Injustice: Gods Among Us: Prima Official Game Guide

I am not a huge game guide guy. I usually hit up IGN.com for tips and tricks, but when it comes to a fighting game...Sometimes you need that edge. The book has a bunch of combos and special hints for players looking to really dive into Injustice. Every page is beautifully composed, and jacket is visually stunning. I was in awe when I opened it, and felt like I should shelve it just to keep it clean. It was such a gorgeous book, that it really deserved a plastic cover over the dust jacket to keep it clean. The art pages are fun, too, with full color illustrations and character concept art.The negatives were both in production and handling. The first one ordered came drenched in tacky glue. Apparently the glue that binds the pages to the book didn't dry properly or it wasn't applied well, and had managed to seep down onto the bottom of the pages. When you try to open the book, the pages were all stuck together. If you attempted to spread them, you'd lose a bit of ink from one side of the page or another. All minor and cosmetic, but it's a "Collector's" item. Shouldn't it arrive MINT?The replacement came from Amazon so quickly, that I must commend them on their service, however it too was not in perfect shape. The corner edge of the bottom had an impact mark on it that had creased a bunch of pages. Now the dent in the pages was small, and better than having a book covered in rubber glue, but it was noticeable and frustrating. The other negative associated with this specific product, is the advertisement of a lithograph. They should just call it an insert page or mini poster. Handbill would even be more acceptable. It was literally just a laser printed image. The stock was thin and light and had no texture. Just a piece of printed paper. I don't mind it. It's visually attractive, but cheap.All in all a single star is lost at the expense of condition, however it is such a beautiful book, and the content is spectacular. Also, for the price of 23 dollars, you can't go wrong! Hope to see all you heroes and villains online!

The game itself is a world wide greatness for fighters to hone on their skills to become the best in the world. However some still have trouble to master the different moves and combo's that enable them to go toe to toe with some of the champion fighter gamers in the world. This is where this book comes in.The Injustice strategy guide is unlike other strategy guides, as they provide in depth understanding and a very strong emphasis of what you need to do to defeat your opponents. This guide helps you get through certain challenges with ease without any problems at all. It helps you choose who you should use in competitions with its helpful basic understanding of what each characters strengths and weaknesses are. This enables both the beginner players of the game and the pros to get tips on what they can do to improve their gaming experience.Its full in depth talk about different characters makes it alot easier to help you decide what sort of character you want to take with you throughout your injustice journey. The collectors edition includes a special lithograph for any treasure hunter or DC fan would want to keep their hands on as its only going to be ever printed again for this strategy guide.I personally bought this as im an just getting into the fighting game competitions and i needed a full understanding of how to make my character that i have taken to make better use of them against online opponents. This has helped me greatly and i hope it would help anyone out there that is willing to take their gaming to the next level with Injustice.Hope you all have a great time reading this and enjoying the artwork and i do recommend this book to help you make yourself the ultimate fighter.

This Guide is full of brilliant artwork, and i would recommend for any fan of the DC Universe, even if you don't own the game.The guide it self is also very informative with tips on achieving all challenges.

Good choice for international purchases.

Everything ancillary to process was fine (fast shipping, arrived quickly, etc.) it's just a shame that the product was only so-so. The more I look at other guides the clearer it becomes that the depth and insight provided by the vanilla and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 guides is an aberration. This guide completely omits the frame data which, while it is technically view-able in the games training mode, is only view-able for one character at a time so a single reference source would have been nice. I also wouldn't call the actual strategy sections particularly insightful. This is a guide that might help an absolute beginner be less of a beginner but is pretty much useless for anyone more advanced than that.

This book is great for any die hard DC lover it describes every character with detail, maps and many other things. I just wish it came with some steam on patches, COD: Ghosts Limited Edition Strategy Guide had some steam on patches. Cod Ghosts strategy guide is well worth your money to. This book is one of the best Strategy Guides ever well worth the money even if you don't have the game.

Very well made guide, good quality cover.All of the moves for the characters are nicely laid out, and due to it being a multi-format guide you'll have to learn which buttons relate to which type of punch, which is possibly it's only downfall. In the heat of a battle you don't really want to think Hard-Punch is X or Square and would rather just see the symbol in the guide.If you want to know more about some of the finer points from the game, or how to get some of the unlocks, then this is a worthy addition.

So let me start with my background - im quite a keen fighting game player, love MK9 and Street Fighter etc, and everytime i buy one of these games i also purchase the Brady and Prima Guides, so i would say i have quite a good knowledge of what makes a good guide. So il break down this guide into pro's and con's:Pros:Great looking book, well made if you can say that, and nice finish on the pages. It is especially nice with the images at the end, and the use if images for the specials and basic moves.The breakdown of the game is also great for new players, explaining 50/50s, wager, mix ups and all that general terminiology. You do tend to get this in most guides, but for new players, this is great.Also there is a great breakdown of story mode, giving you an understand how best to approach the matches. I dont know how effective it is as i dont think you necessarily need a guide to complete story, but still a nice addition.Also there is a nice section for each character explaining how to best approach playing that character, but this is no where near as good as the breakdown on playstyles that was in the MK9 guide, there is no explanation on how to best approach opponents and general gameplay styles. There is also a section they mention helping you choose a character to fit your style that doesnt seem to be there, it is basically a case of you reading all the chars and deciding yourself.Cons:Now to me this is a big let down, but so many chars have been negelected in terms of depth. It is quite clear alot of depth have gone into certain chars, i.e. aquaman, batman, superman etc - and very little in my opinion for people like green arrow, bane etc. Now from my understanding, several people wrote for different chars, so you might find a different person may have done the Aquaman section to the Bane one, and if it is the case, it is quite clear. Its a shame some of the possible lesser played characters do not have the same depth. For example, some chars have combos for meterless, corner, 1 bar, 1 bar corner etc - wheres some, have basically 3 or 4 basic combos, and thats about it, nothing for corners etc. To me, this is a shame, i tend to play the lesser known chars, and it seems i have lost out a bit here. This is the main reason i cannot give the game guide a 5 star rating.

This was a fun guide to help get through the game. I tended to play while my 11 year old read the walk through. I had hoped for more art, but I suspect that was more an error of my expectation than any failing of the book. All in all, did the job.

this guide is very good for this fighting game. it covers every character and provides tactics of how best to use them. it also has a bonus art section which fleshes out the game story and insight into the making of the game

This book was a gift for my husband and he hardly put it down since he got it. It covers all the characters in great detail with plenty of advice on fighting styles. The additional background and artwork in the book are good too
