Will it trigger if the intruder breaks the window?

Not unless the sensor happens to fall off during the break in. It's not intended to detect breaking sound.

how do you get the cover off?

Either with finger nail or a small flat screwdriver. It comes off very easy. I love this switch. Already there are three in my townhouse. After changing the battery, it starts working with no set up needed.

Can you set timer on these devices to not activate? Ex: if use on window, there are times in the days i would like to leave the window opens wo alarm

So far I have not had an actual alarm go off at any point. It does however keep track of when the door is opened and closed I am sure that if you leave it open and an alarm goes off it will be able to be desmised by your phone.
