Excellent seller, a bit of a problem with the converter(s)
This is a nicely packaged unit, and it has all the requisite inputs (coax and toslink), a pilot light to show (what else?) power, and RCA jack outputs. It installed quickly using the supplied (standard) USB supply (5v, 1a), and it sounds pretty good. So why only 3 stars? Because, to me, it only sounds pretty good. I'm not talking "golden ear, oxygen-free cable" pretty good - I'm talking about a low-level buzz in the background. Only really audible on the quietest passages (or when the source is paused) and the system volume is pretty high while in a quiet room. But the buzz was measured at around 60mv P-P, with a whole slew of harmonics. I seem to be the only reviewer who has found fault with this unit, but I have tried 3 separate units (Dinger was SUPER nice, and did everything they could to try to help), using 3 different digital sources on 2 separate sound systems. I finally disconnected it from any output except an oscilloscope, and the result is the picture I'm enclosing; this is hooked to a CD player coax output with the player in pause. I tried alternate power supplies in hope that might have been contributing, to no effect. If anyone else can confirm or tell me I'm wrong, I'd appreciate it - as I said, the seller is perfect, and the price of these is certainly excellent.Just a quick update - I ordered another manufacturer's unit; similar specs, almost 3x the price. It worked perfectly - virtually silent when silence was called for.

Great buy... almost.
Great price. Well designed. Allows for optical or coaxial digital input. A sturdy and compact unit. The USB power cord does not match the same level of quality.

Cheaply made.

If at first you don't succeed... ;)
UPDATE: I got in touch with Dinger, it was clear that my device was defective and they quickly replaced it with a new unit. It worked EXACTLY the way i wanted it to. I hooked the optical cable directly into the back of my Xbox One S - into the DAC - and then to my computer speakers. The sound is phenomenal and so convenient the way i can power it using the USB port on the back of my console. I'm VERY happy with my purchase, and more than satisfied with the way Dinger treated me.I think there's some potential here... I ordered this to connect my xbox one s to a set of computer speakers. I could NOT get it to work. I started to think that maybe it's because the format of the audio output was incompatible - which then made me upset because the description clearly says it works with xbox! Long story short, I discovered that the connection at the toslink port is loose/faulty. If i HOLD the cable a certain way, i can get sound - GREAT SOUND - but ain't nobody got time for that! I've written the seller (Dinger-US) and am hoping they'll replace my item at no cost, because the price has gone up by $1 here on Amazon since I purchased this last week. So like i said, there's potential, but this isn't the experience I paid for

Works great for sound output from xbox.
Great audio-- I use this to connect an Xbox One to a stereo receiver in my office. Works perfectly and the audio sounds great.
