Clear - Helps Dogs Who Are Afraid When They Cannot See
This product definitely beats the typical ecollar that is milky white and opaque. This one is mostly clear. I will upload a photo so you can see this product on the left and the typical one on the right with my hand underneath. That way, you can see the visibility difference.Pros:– very durable.– secure enough to leave your dog unattended.– almost fully clear.Cons:– The latches are difficult for one-person operation.– The ecollar rubs directly on their neck. I prefer the ones that you run a collar through. It does have a semi soft edge to help with this.– Mine had a big 2" x 3" sticker on it. I bought it so the dog could see through it. And now I'm fighting with product tag adhesive. Plus the sticker remains are ugly, and I'm anal, so the residue is extra annoying. In the photo, the sticker is wet because I'm trying to get it off.

Very Good if you use it correctly.
This is a great collar if you use it correctly. I've looked at the negative reviews and most of them just didn't know how to use it.Put the clips in with the smooth side toward the dog's head and the pointy ends out.Size it so that it slips on over the dog's head with it already assembled.Fasten to the dog's regular collar. I've seen vets use strips of bandage gauze but I used large zip ties that I keep on hand (because they are endlessly useful), making the loops large enough to slip the regular collar through the loops and and then buckle. Orient the zip ties so that when you cut the ends off the zip ties the smooth side of the connector is closest to the dog and you won't have any problem. One last hint: if you break a clip you can use a few long strips of duct tape on the outside of the collar. I didn't break one of these but have had it happen in the past. Try and get the sizing right the first time as the clips are harder to get out than in.Also, this collar is extremely durable. Our dog has worn this for probably a total of around 3 months and routinely pushes through a pet door wearing it.I also want to mention that we tried one of the fabric padded e-collars and thought it would be a great thing. It was NOT. The fabric is slightly abrasive (any fabric is) and before we realized it it had rubbed a large sore under our dog's chin. After going to this collar it started clearing up right away after going back to the vet for antibiotics. It was also harder to get on and off of our dog and it was a lot heavier than this one.

Cheaper Than Going through The Vet
In terms of comfort, I cannot speak for my dog, but she seemed to be fine with it.When it comes to durability, I gave it a 5/5 because I bought this thing a few years back and it's still around. I first it for my German Shepherd and then I used it for my lab. I had to drill holes on my own for this cone to fit my lab, but I think that this just speaks to the unintended customization aspect of this cone.As for sturdiness, I have a German Shepherd. Any one who has a German Shepherd knows how they are (or maybe it's just my girl) but they are a energetic breed and she put this cone through the all sorts of tests.

Has been going strong for 5 months
This is a durable hood the problem with it is the snaps, they don’t really work for my large dog so.... I went to hardware store and installed Velcro and it works great I’m using this on a 90 pound Labrador. I have reinforced Velcro with duck tape as my dogReally thrashes it around when he’s in his kennel. I have it adjusted just right so it can be slipped on and off without using the Velcro. I went through five hoods in six weeks before I found this one. It’s also a good price.

It was my first time using a cone on him and it was easy to use
purchased for my 15 pounds french bull dog. he had a large hot spot on his head and this kept him from irritating further and it was able to heal completely. You will need some sort of ribbon or string to attach the cone to either a harness or collar. I use gift ribbon in 3 places and attached it to my dogs harness. It was my first time using a cone on him and it was easy to use. no complaints.

Was disappointed. The "insert Tab A into Slot B" construction ...
Was disappointed. The "insert Tab A into Slot B" construction is the pain that other reviewers have described, but it's not insurmountable. My biggest disappointment was the inability to quickly remove and fit on my dog--I just don't think most dogs are patient enough for the time it takes to get this thing on and off. Also, even in its "tightest" adjustment, the collar sagged and rested on my dog's head, pinning down his ears. I actually had my roll of Velcro tape out to "fix" the collar to my liking, but had problems trying to gauge where the tape should go and keeping the collar from going askew. Also had some sharp corners on the outer edge I wasn't fond of. The padding is not what it's cracked up to be, either. Kept it without returning it, but went instead with the inflatable that we also ordered.

... really a review of the product itself which seemed sturdy, but a little difficult to snap into place
This isn't really a review of the product itself which seemed sturdy, but a little difficult to snap into place. It took both myself and my husbad about 25 mins. to actually get it snapped around her neck. Once it was finally on, she completely freaked out and had it off in about 2.2 seconds. Now in those 2.2 seconds, she ran into everything around her so it was a little comical relief. After the sweaty 3rd cycle we gave up and just wrapped her ear. The cone of shame still sets on top of our fridge mocking us. :(

Good product
This is just how it was described. It's clear, but my dog hated it. I bought it to replace an opaque "softer" collar that I was using on him, thinking he would like the clear better, but he did not like the stiffness of it, it scared him when he bumped into things, so we went back to the old collar. However, we are keeping this collar. It's sturdy, was easy to adjust, and see through. We may need it some day. It came quickly and there are no issues with it.
