Excellent bit of kit! Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre yet powerful and effective. Having applied a weed and feed treatment a fortnight ago, to my very weedy, mossy lawn, I used this machine yesterday with the 'aerator' attachment, which has movable tines (rather than the 'scarifier' attachment which has big, fixed blades and looks like it could do a lot of damage!). I started on setting 3, as this is the least 'destructive' to test with, which got out plenty of dead moss and thatch and also lifted the grass. Moved on to setting 2, working in a different direction, to get out more debris and out of curiosity ended up on setting 1, which to be honest was a bit brutal in some areas of my undulating lawn! Its almost too easy to use, so it's tempting to do more and more and try deeper and deeper! To finish, I mowed the lawn to pick up remaining debris and cut the grass that had been nicely lifted. You could say it now looks like a well worn football pitch, but I prefer to describe it as a well hoovered carpet! I have pretty much removed all the moss and weeds and I'm optimistic of a full recovery! Some reviewers have commented on the small collecting box but personally I feel any bigger would make the whole thing cumbersome. You'd need one the size of a wheelie bin! I simply kept a humper close by and emptied the basket into that 4 or 5 times before taking it to the compost heap. No bother, and the fact it fills up so quickly shows what a good job it's doing! I have no reservations in recommending this machine.

Well built and powerful. Does a super job of removing thatch and scarifying. The collection box however is completely useless, being way too small. Also the cable at 10m is far too short for anything more than the smallest lawn. With some trial and error I found the best method was to dispense witht the grass box and then use my petrol mower to collect the trash. Also the scarifier blade is the best one to use.

Very powerful, effective and easy to put together. I actually bought a manual scarifier and aerator for my 50ft garden. I’m so glad I decided to return them and purchase this instead. It really de compacted the soil and removed so much thatch and moss quickly, this was very much overdue. When I first opened the box it looked so small, I was doubtful whether it would do the job, it definitely did. The only thing I would say as previous reviewers have mentioned, is the collecting box is very small, but it doesn’t really matter too much because I just rake up all the debris which isn’t a big deal as my garden is relatively small.

An excellent machine which will save you a lot of work and will markedly improve your lawn. I am probably the worst garden equipment assembler, but this really is quite easy. There are two attachments, a raker already fitted and a scarifying tine attachment which is basically the same thing but for lighter raking duties like leaf collecting. You won't be able to aerate your lawn with this type of machine, but it's great for scarifying. Only use going fowards, never reversing backwards. Ignore comments on here about the collection bag not being large enough, this is usual as it is a highly effective machine. As it collects so much moss, it's best to leave the bag off completely, just keep the flap open by fitting the cage only without the bag. Wear wellington boots to protect your legs from dirt being thrown up. The electric cord holders work well enough if you fit them the right way around. This machine has been very well designed and I give it full marks.

This is a 2 month review - we have quite a large garden and it’s been the hottest summer followed by the wettest few weeks! Today was my first mow since scarifying and probably last before the winter. I’m really really impressed!! Easy to put together! Very satisfying to use. At first it was super scary as we looked like we had zero grass left. Although our area gets very mossy so this is been a long process that I will continue next summer we a bit more grass seed. We also have a dog so keeping the lawn top condition can be hard work. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves! Before (top) and after (bottom) August to September 2025 We used the scarifier, lawn seed, top soil / sand mix and lots and lots of watering!!!
