Super informative book on these short leg cats
I have two cats and am interested in the Munchkin cat. I was surprised that it only came about in the 1980's in Louisiana which some call the La Creole Cat, cool because that's where I am originally from ;) With short legs, long, short or curly fur, they seem to be a good indoor cat, easy to train and loves to entertain itself if you are busy. They also love to explore so get the house ready so they don't get stuck behind or beside things like appliances. I feel it's a good idea to check the shelters first as the book suggests to start looking. They are even tempered & love to hoard things, especially shiny objects - put jewelry up! Brush/groom this beautiful cat and love it. There is a lot of good information on feeding and vet visits.

Well-written book! The book cover is all you need to get an insight of what’s in store for you while reading this book. I love how this book talked about how can my munchkin cat overcome its fear of leaping because of her short legs. 😊 I also love the cute pictures of Kittens included in this book! Kudos to the author. I highly recommend this book!

Cheap
I bought this book for a 6year old. Definitely not a kids book, which I could have dealt with if not for my next point. The pages were super cheap, and it was all black and white. If there had been color photos we could have seen past it. Total waste of money.

This is the Munchkin cat Bible you need to read to understand this breed!
I am a professed cat lover and have always wanted to own a Munchkin or tea cup kitty. This is a great book to educate a person who is thinking about owning one of these cats. Although the book goes into great detail on the Munchkin breed, it also tells you the difference between a Munchkin, dwarf and tea cup kitty. What I didn't know is that the Munchkin has very short legs, but the trait doesn't inhibit it from activity. The Munchkin is very sociable and friendly and playful and generally retains a kitten-like behavior into adulthood. The book takes you through every step of choosing one of these cats and how to care for one of these cats. I can't think of one thing the author missed in preparing a would be Munchkin owner prior to purchase and afterward. If you've been meaning to own one of these cats, this is the cat Bible you need to read to understand this breed. I was surprised to learn it is a relatively new breed. Their very smart cats and easily trainable not to mention cute as can be. After reading this I may just adopt one!

Gpod source of information on this new breed of cat
I lost my 17-year-old cat to a sudden stroke and am looking at different cat breeds. I like the idea of having a cat that always looks small. The search for the top 7 smallest cat breeds showed the Munchkin as #2. Their bodies look like any other cat and come in all different types and colors, but their legs are really short. It might keep them from jumping on the table and counter tops when you aren't around? To me, one of the big advantages is that you can have a small Munchkin cat and have it look like your favorite color, length of hair, and breed. The book covers purchasing one, getting started, the needs of the cat, equipment you will need, temperament, etc. It even tells you that Munchkin cats are intelligent and can be trained. Recommended!

A bible for munchkin owners
I was given this book by a friend who wants me to get a cat over a dog...... these cats are adorable and remind me of my favourite movie, Oz! This guide is packed with information about how to care for this bright, energetic and loving breed. Susan Saben knows her stuff and it makes me wonder how many animals she has at home :)This book covers everything from breeds, where and how to identify good breeders, types of munchkins, the cats personality and temperament, as well as how to prepare your home for them and healthcare. I think this book is an important read for anyone who is considering buying a munchkin cat, in order to give them the best possible care and life. A really informative read.
