Presentation Zen Storyboarding Sketchbook (Voices That Matter)

I have used mine liberally and given as a gift. It has a pleasing contrast with the stiff, black covers and the cream colored pages. The sayings and illustrations within pop up as mini-surprises and gifts, e.g., "Simplicity is powerful and leads to greater clarity, yet it is neither simple nor easy to achieve." It lays flat when open and can be folded over for ease of writing/sketching/noodling on the go. My only complaint is the wrap around strap, which is connected to the back cover. It came loose within a couple of weeks and I finally resorted to glue and tape to keep it in place. Other than that, it is a joy to use, takes ink well from pen, pencil, roller ball, fountain pen, and has the right feel. It resists bleed through with markers like Prismacolor and even Sharpie, with paper that doesn't seem thick. I am a Garr Reynolds admirer and this sketchbook (and notebook) represents the quality I would expect from him. (Check out his site http://www.garrreynolds.com/)

Purchasing this product seemed like a waste of money initially - I mean, I can easily create a storyboard on my Mac. However, once I received it and began using it, I definitely saw the value. It's the perfect size for sketching out presentations and can even be used for other situations as well (web layout, process mapping, etc.). There are several pages of boxes for the storyboard as well as regular blank pages.Overall, this is definitely not a necessity for presentation designers, however, it definitely makes the creation process more interesting and fun.

While I am not a student of the author's works, this for my use was a non starter. There are 8 boxes per page, and each one is 1.5" x 2.125". I can only draft up something that small with a magnifying glass, others that are more detailed orientated might find it useful.I gave it 3 stars as a neutral rating, it is not a bad product, just one that I cannot use.

I too would like to buy a case..."If you're a writer or presenter who easily falls in love with paper, books, writing utensils, and all the other "tools of the trade", I think you'll love the Presentation Zen Sketchbook. I only wish I had a case of them here in my office so I wouldn't feel like it was such a big decision about what project I'll allocate this particular one to... A unique book that allows you to brainstorm with small post-it notes and drawings. This novel concept allows one to do some brain mapping type ideation but using 1.5 X 2 inch post-it notes - which can be removed, reconfigured, etc. as you would with any post-it note ideation process. Best for people that find themselves having to develop presentations or ideas on their own.

I didn't know it had a bunch of pages with define box layouts and random quotes. If you're looking for a plain sketchbook. This is not it.

OK he lives in Japan so many of his themes revolve around around things he lives and learns there!

This is a very well made notebook. It is a combination of plain pages and pages laid out like a storyboard. The paper is a very good quality as is the cover and the binding. It is great to use and the idea of sketching plans and ideas is extremely effective. I also find the size of the book a bit small for four sketching larger ideas but it is convenient for travelling. It has to be said that all of this comes at a high price so I use it sparingly but would like to use it more. On balance I ended up using a plain paper notebook as it does pretty much the same thing for a fraction of the price.

It's empty, it's an empty notebook with a few random quotes - what I needed was something to help me with a presentation, instead I paid to become the but of this author's joke.

本に惹かれて買ってみました．白紙の部分と1ページにスライドの枠組みがいくつもある部分に分かれている．普通のノートでもいい気がします．
