The replacement USB-C port works
I have MacBook 15" 1990 USB C port is damaged. Opening the MacBook is to reach to the USB-C board is actually tricky. Need special screw driver sets. Taking the back cover out is one of the hardest part for me. Some how I am not able to slide the back panel out after unscrew all the screws in the back. I end up using a large car panel repair suction cup to slide the macbook back cover out.After the back panel, the original macbook need to unscrew a lot of screws to reach to the USB-C port. Later I find out that I don't need to fully take out the main board, unscrew most of it and lift the main board can take out the USB-C port as well.The replacement USB-C looks exact like the damage one there. After the replacement the USB-C port, the charging is working again. I can see the damage pin on the previous USB-C port.Any way, it works as expected. I am very happy the MacBook USB-C port is all good now. Connecting to the monitor also works. Not an easy job to replace it, I am glad to have it done.
