Have enjoyed Alpen over decades but particularly appreciate the sugar free version. It is an excellent source of fiber while being very tasty and nutritious with an delightful mix of grains and berries. While area grocery shelves are crowded with sugar loaded bland cereals that offer nothing for a healthy diet and are loaded with artificial ingredients, Alpen cereals are a worthy find. The supplier handling my purchase did a great job. So I will be keeping this product in stock.

Not as fine as previous alpine. Slightly different.

If you have bought Alpen Muesli in the past, you should be aware that Amazon sells a new formulation, and it has nearly 4x the amount of sodium. When I spoke with Post Holdings customer service (Post owns Alpen), I learned they are now manufacturing the cereal in a new processing plant. I want to share photos of the original formula (still sold at Whole Foods, btw) and the new formula. In both photos, the original is on left (20mg sodium per serving) and the new one is on the right (75mg sodium per serving). New formula also contains wheat flour and malted barley, and of course, extra salt. My child loves this muesli for years but spit out this new one, it was SO salty. Post, bring back the old formula, please!
