My order for a tatami mat and shikibuton from Fuli Japan arrived as promised. Both well packaged. Both very beautiful. I followed the enclosed instructions for preparing them. I have slept on them for over a week now. I would say night 3 was the hardest. I woke up sore. I reckon it must have been my body realigning. I ordered a mattress topper from elsewhere and cotton bedding. Every morning I strip the bed and air the mattress and tatami. It takes all of 2 minutes to do. It is cold and winter in Scotland so I lay it over an airer by a window to circulate. I stand the tatami mat to allow same. The tatami mat has a grassy odour almost like a fermented scent but I quite like it. It does seem to be lessening though. I fold the remaining bedding. The room is sparse so I have space to do this. Before purchasing this futon I trial ran a small foam mattress my daughter keeps for friends visiting. It was to see how I could cope directly sleeping on the floor. It was strange but I adjusted to it very quickly. It does help keeping the room sparse I think. I had previously spent months seeking expensive weekly chiropractic sessions for a sore back and it was in desperation that I researched other ways to help myself. I was uncomfortable in my own bed. Now here I am sleeping on the floor every night and in summary can say this is the best thing I have done for myself. My back pain is all but gone. To be sure the mattress is very firm but I look forward to my sleep every evening and my ritual of preparing my bed in the evening (again, only a few minutes of my time). It feels so clean. I have somehow created a zen haven in choosing to sleep this way. It’s calming and special. It perhaps wouldn’t suit everyone (my work colleagues think it’s odd) but it works for many people. I am 60 years old, so not a youngster but I am able to rise with ease. This is the best change I have made for me.....yet to convince my hubby who currently still sleeps in our bed.

Was skeptical but its great. if you like firm mattress or bed. Just go for it.

Really good matress. I sleep pretty well and get to sleep extremely quickly most nights. Noticed a improvement on my back, only think I would say is it recently feels like my upper back is off.... which I've never had a problem with before

I bought this as a second guest futon that I can use when the need arises. I also have a double fuli mattress which is my main daily sleeping arrangement through choice. Having slept on this single myself also I can vouch for its comfort and certainly once you get used to sleeping on tatami and futon might prefer it to a normal bed. This combo is a good way to see if futon sleeping is for you or certainly as spare sleeping arrangement, either way I recommend

Arrived on time in a vacuum-sealed bag. I opened it up and let it sit overnight to expand, and it was ready to use by the next day. A little wider than expected, which is fine. No unusual odors, bugs, marks, etc. Mine is laid atop a foam exercise mat, maybe 1/2” thick, with hardwood floor beneath that. I find this to be a very comfortable futon, much better than the memory foam mattress I was using previously. Great if you enjoy sleeping on a mostly firm surface, and certainly better for back support. It also folds back up easily for transport. Very light, so one person can move it around without any problems.

I was pleasantly surprised. You never know with Amazon purchases. High quality, easy to put together and very sturdy. This fits perfect in my minivan. I love the option of adjustable legs.

Okay, in all honesty, I was very skeptical. This futon is fairly thin and looks like it would be hell to sleep on. I have slept on it now for two or three weeks and I find it to be along the lines of an orthopedic bed. It's firm but in a very good way. I love it and I'm extremely happy that I bought it!

Ich kann die EMOOR Japanische Gepolsterte Futon-Matratze Machi nur wärmstens empfehlen! Das Liegegefühl ist sehr natürlich und äußerst angenehm. Man spürt sofort, dass man hier nicht auf einer billigen Plastikmatratze schläft. Das Material und die Verarbeitung sind einfach top. Selbst nach einem Jahr Gebrauch riecht die Matratze immer noch sehr angenehm. Ich lüfte sie etwa 3 bis 4 Mal pro Woche, indem ich sie einfach an die Wand stelle. Dank dieser einfachen Methode ist sie schon nach ein paar Stunden wieder sehr frisch. Mein Rücken dankt es mir! Früher plagten mich häufig Rückenschmerzen, besonders beim Aufwachen oder Aufstehen. Mit der Futon-Matratze war es anfangs zwar ungewohnt, aber schon nach wenigen Tagen hat sich mein Körper komplett darauf eingestellt. Das Ergebnis: Meine Rückenschmerzen sind verschwunden! Nach einer Feier war er einfach schon zu müde und ich bat ihn, einfach bei mir zu schlafen. Kaum hatte er sich hingelegt, fragte er mich nach nur einer Minute: „Diese Matratze ist heftig angenehm zu liegen!“ Am nächsten Tag wachte er auf und fragte mich direkt, woher ich sie habe. Er hat sie sich daraufhin sofort bestellt – und zwar direkt die ganz große Variante in 180x200 cm! Sollte meine Matratze jemals den Geist aufgeben, würde ich sie jederzeit wieder kaufen!
