While these are smaller than I anticipated, they are super cute! The paint is detailed and consistent, they open and close smoothly, and are (other than being smaller than anticipated) very nice and fitting the description. Super cute, so happy I purchased!

Opening the dolls was a chore. The fit is tight and makes them difficult to open. Perhaps a little more sanding would have helped.

Many reviewers claimed to have had problems with these sets, such as pieces not fitting together, bad paint jobs, and/or the wood being cracked on some of the dolls. Just as a precaution, I ordered two exact sets, thinking that would provide me with a better chance of being able to put together one complete set that had no damage or problems. I'm glad I did, because there were some paint and finish problems on some of the dolls, one of the dolls was cracked, and on one of the large dolls, the top and bottom were completely misshapen and COULD NOT be put together (it arrived in two pieces in the box!). At least, with two identical sets, I was able to put together one set that was actually acceptable to gift to my granddaughter, and I'm returning the damaged set, with a note describing everything that is wrong with it -- hopefully, that will prevent them from sending it out to someone else. These are cheap knockoff dolls made in China -- better to buy the ones actually made in Russia or Ukraine, which really are not that much more expensive, especially considering the difference in quality and workmanship you get for the money.

So cute! Not super great for younger kids. But the best idea for ages 6 and up!

Terribly made. The wood is not sanded well inside the dolls, making it rough on little hands and hard to open and close the separate pieces. There was glue all over the dolls, inside and out, and you can see where the bear ears were glued on (huge globs of glue and then ears stuck in them). They were all dirty, covered in sawdust, grime and dirt. There was zero craftsmanship or pride in product involved in making these.Really disappointing. I would not suggest purchasing.(There's also a grammatical error on the outer box; doesn't give too much encouragement that the company produces quality products).

I was a bit hesitant to place the order at first, because I had seen a number of reviews saying that the pieces were extremely difficult to get apart. However, there were enough positive reviews, so I took a chance. Well, to my delight, the animal nesting dolls were a great value for the money, they were beautifully finished, and extremely cute. But, then I ran into the problem of the owl doll not wanting to separate. The solution was very simple - I took a small piece of fine sandpaper, and gently sanded the inside bottom edge of the top half by gently rotating it over the paper. Just a few turns did it, and now it works perfectly.

These are very cute. They also seem to be well made. I think my granddaughter will love them.

Got this for my 6 year old daughter’s Easter basket. She really enjoys it. Classic toy but updated to a new style. We will likely keep this one a very long time!
