Really useful - I use it instead of my oven's cooktop now.
Works really fast and well, and has a timer feature that makes it safe to leave the room while something's cooking. I set the timer to no more than it will take to cook and it shuts off the heat when the timer ends. This is so much faster than my oven's rangetop, which is made of Schott Ceran. The inductive cooktop heats the induction-ready pan directly, whereas the oven's rangetop has to heat its slow-heating ceramic top, which then heats the pan.

I find this product easy to operate and it performs well.
I have not yet found any dislikes about this product. It performs well. I tested the two cup boil test immediately after receiving it. This cooktop excelled way past my expensive 3 yr old smooth top range. To be clear, once you can heat water and your cookware this fast you cannot go back from that. I knew all of my current cookware would not work with the cooktop, I well understood that when I purchased it. However, about half of my cookware does work with it. Because I am so pleased with the use of this cooktop I was motivated to order a few more essential cookware. I’ve been using this cooktop for nearly a week now, I ordered two of them. I have not turned on my smooth top range since they arrived. I find that learning to regulate the temperature while cooking was easy for me. It didn’t take me long at all learning to regulate the temperatures I needed effectively which made for quick and easy meal preparation. Far easier than using my range. All of the food I’ve prepared using these two cooktops have turned out well and delicious. I’m sure I will eventually need to use my range again for some reason but with these two induction cooktops and my two instant pots it will certainly not be often. To be clear, I’m absolutely in love with these two induction cooktops. If you need to prep do it first because your pans are going to heat up quickly! You won’t have time to heat your pans and prep simultaneously! In about one minute or so it’s time to start cooking if you are sautéing and about 3 minutes if frying in shallow oil. Anything that helps me to produce quality meals quickly is a win win for me. Additionally other benefits of using induction is they do not heat up you or the room. They only heat the pan. The food cooks while the unit is in operation. Turn of the unit and the cooking process stops immediately. My big stove makes my air conditioner come on minutes after turning it on. That doesn’t happen with these induction cooktops! 🙂I’m so glad I bought these! I highly recommend this cooktop. 😎

Never going back to gas
I love this. After installing A/C in my home I wanted to cook without opening up the entire apartment. Got this because it seemed to be the best option based on functionality and price.PROsSimple to operate - press and go with no complicated presets.Easy to clean - Even a damp paper towel works wellHeats more evenly than my gas stovePossible ConsDoesn't really bother me but there is some wining noise from the unit. I usually forget it exists after some time.Fan is loud but not ridiculous. It is definitely quieter than a range hood and my air purifier.

We like it. Especially good for a tea kettle.
I bought this as an anniversary present. We use it with Strauss Stainless Steel 2.6 Quart Whistling Tea Kettle - Induction Ready - Mirror Finish. The cooktop and kettle together are a replacement for a stovetop kettle that had seen its better days. Let me just compare the old with the new--The new cooktop and kettle together cost about $125, and they replace an essentially zero cost kitchen tool. As a special gift, that's OK from my point of view. They are good quality and look nice, which was the main point. The induction cooktop avoids all the issues with cooking spatter, so we don't have any issues with burned on grease or food. That's a big improvement over the old one.The induction cooker heats water faster than our gas stove. I believe that it actually costs less to operate than the stove. The speed is nice, especially in the morning when we are struggling to get down our first cups of coffee and tea.The new cooker provides an alternative to our propane stove for when the propane tank is empty or frozen. We live in interior Alaska and like to have alternatives for things like that. It's simple. One button and the cooker is on. It always starts at a medium cooking rate (#5 out of 10), so I always punch the "+" button to crank it up to top speed for heating the kettle. A batch of hot water takes maybe 3 minutes. There are other functions, including temperature and a timer. They do what they are supposed to do. The whistle on the tea kettle tells us exactly when it starts boiling. It's safe. There is no way it can start a fire, as far as I can see. I left a pot of water on and forgot it for a couple of hours. It boiled dry and automatically shut off. The cooktop has a warning placard that you can burn yourself on it\, and it does get hot; but the heat comes from the pan, not from the cooker. After boiling a kettle of water, the cooktop is almost hot enough to burn my hand, but compared to any other cookware, that's great. The handle and the lid of the kettle stay cool to the touch. It's a bit bigger than I might prefer. Our kitchen is pretty tight, and it occupies some prime cabinet space, but I feel that it's well worth the room it takes. The fact that it stays clean with almost no effort counts for a lot. There are smaller, lower powered units, BTW. 1800 Watts is probably more than we absolutely need, but I went for the big one anyway. There is a little noise. I think it's louder than the microwave, and it runs for a minute or so after you turn it off.It requires iron or steel cookware, which means that we can't use a couple of our kitchen pots. Most of our stuff is black steel or cast iron, and they work fine. Note that a thin steel pan heats very fast--especially on high heat. Simmering or frying works fine, but I prefer to use the gas stove for low heat or for anything that can spatter.
