A steal
My only comparison is with the Nespresso Inissia -- the basic Nespresso machine -- so bear that in mind. At £49 against a recommended retail price of £109.99 this is an absolute steal. (Yes, I KNOW all about online discounting, but I still thought it worth mentioning.) Previously I had two Nespresso Inissia machines, and they lasted an average of just three years each. I think I was unlucky, but even so... I've had my L'OR machine only a couple of days, and already I love it. Excellent coffee, good design, simple to use. Just a couple of points by way of clarification rather than criticism: 1. There are two nozzles. Put your mug in the middle, because the coffee comes from both. They're useful if you have a guest: put one mug under each nozzle. 2. If, like me, you're the geekish sort who measures the amount of water needed, you may find that the pouring terminates in the flashing of whichever button you've pressed. This is said to indicate that you're out of water, but it also happens when there's only a little left in the reservoir, so put in some extra. I don't know how long this machine will be selling at £49, so I'd grab one fast.

Great coffee machine and reasonable price
I love it! Got it in the prime day deal for 49.99! Chuffed! Mine arrived in perfect condition and they also include a box of 9 different capsules to try. Easy to set up. Coffee takes about 30 seconds to make (an espresso). Also tried the lungo with the big pods and these make basically a normal size cup of coffee which is good. The coffee pods taste really rich and flavorsome so much so that I bought a load more different L'Or ones on their website. The machine also comes with a £20 off £50 for the L'Or website once you register your machine on their website plus they have other discounts. Worked out really well, ended up ordering 120 pods for about 28 quid of different flavours making it about 23p a pod. Seen a few reviews about it breaking less than a year after but obviously I cannot comment on that as of yet as mine works perfectly at the moment. So excited! 😊 P.s it takes other brand pods and Nespresso pods too (the normal ones). Already tried with some decaf lavazza ones and they worked fine too.

Brilliant coffee machine, fantastic value
Bought this after our old Nespresso original machine developed a leak. Extremely pleased with it, the build quality is excellent, it looks sleek and the water tank is solid, removable and/or easy to refill in place. There are three buttons on the top for small/medium/large dispense. You can press these buttons more than once with the same pod to top up your mug if you like. Heats up & dispenses quickly. The internal container for used pods is fairly large too, fits about 8 pods before it needs emptying. Easy to remove & wash too. And don't worry about the fact that there's two nozzles, you just bung a mug under it and it just dispenses from them both. Perfect for the morning start, absolutely love it. This machine takes Nespresso original pods - which are now available at decent quality & prices from Aldi/Lidl etc. Honestly don't see why they made different pod types, like Vertuo etc., the originals are best. The only thing I'd mention is that the handle you lift on the top to put pods into needs some free space above the unit, so it might not open fully if placed under a kitchen cabinet. Extra tip - most original pods are aluminium and can be recycled easily if you buy one of the various recycling tools - just search amazon for 'nespresso pod recycler' or similar - you can just squash the pod to separate the case from the coffee grinds and compost the latter, recycle the former.

Machine great,coffee acceptable quality
Received in good delivery,it is very easy to use ,especially good and fast ,convenience for a breakfast coffee, and anytime.Lor coffee pods are economic to buy, quality although not excellent buy good enough. They seems not 100 % arabica bean used, just robusta and arabica.I seek now to Lavazza 100% arabica bean. The machine is well made ,sturdy and beautiful design outlook.Just hope Lor offer more 100% arabica bean pods.

Espresso buonissimo
Well made coffee machine,no frills,no higly automated mechanisms that can only fail in time a simple lever to push the capsule in its internal compartment and the coffee that comes out is smooth and strong. The espresso quality depends mainly on the type of capsule you use and I have used Delo'r capsules and for my taste they are perfect and I must say reasonably priced for the quality they offer nad let's face it if you pay peanuts you can only get monkeys.Capisce a mme.

XXL pods....Oh YES! Replaced my Lavazza Modo Mio and I have no regrets!
I did a lot of research in this purchase as I really wanted a bean to mug machine but concluded my coffee habit and the price cannot justify this. On researching the pod machines I concluded the L'OR Barista pod machine was the best offering. It has met my expectation for pod coffee and this has been excellent. Bought this L'OR Barista machine to replace my Lavazza Modo Mio machine. I ruled out Lavazza pod mechanism due to their Eco Pods are not consistent in working compared to the foil pods. I had several issues with the Lavazza Eco Pods and I reported this to Lavazza based on my own experience. On review you can find lots of people reporting the same issue with the Lavazza Eco pods in forums. 1) The double size coffee pods (XXL pods) are a complete winner. How this did not come about sooner? 2) The L'OR Barista Sublime machine is compatible with the Nespresso original coffee pods which has the largest selection of pods compared to any other maker period. There are loads of different coffees. You'll find Nespresso original pods in most supermarkets too. ***Take note the L'OR Barista Sublime does not work with Nespresso Vertua pods as these are only for Nespresso Vertua machines (patented). I didn't bother with Nespresso Vertua machine as Nespresso original pods are everywhere, largest variety in coffee and the original mechanism for coffee dispensing is proven over many more years. To summarise you get all the Nespresso original pod offering as well as the L'OR branded pods with the brilliant 'XXL' pod size too. Don't bother buying a Nespresso machine (or any other pod machine)! 3) You have 3 (Ristretto, Expresso and Lungo) default serving sizing of coffee which will cater for your needs. You can manually set the amount of coffee that is dispensed if you need to. Between the 3 sizes this will cater for most peoples need. Lungo size does exist! See image attached for ML servings. 4) You can get Lavazza coffee in Nespresso original pods. I am not missing my Lavazza coffee as much with the L'OR coffee offering. The XXL pod offering is so good! 5) The mechanism to place pods in to get coffee is very simple and quick. 6) The machine is made by Phillips, a decent manufacturer brand, that has been around for over a century. Now used for over a month now and it has been great. The L'OR coffee brand offers a lot of discounts for owners too and I have used this once and got new coffee in 2 days. Again great selection of coffee.

Third time lucky?
This would have overall gained a 4* review, however, I am currently on my third machine as the first two did not work straight out of the box! That aside, below is a review of the machine when it is functioning: CONTEXT: I bought this machine to replace my Aldi Ambiano pod machine that works with Nespresso compatible pods. I had that machine for 6 years before it started to leak. I've also experiencing using the Nespresso Krups Pixie series daily at an office. I purchased this L'or Barista Machine on deal at £63.00. I tend to drink lungo and I do add more water to make a longer drink, plus milk (sorry if that offends anyone). I understand that others also use this machine to dispense a shot to create other drinks away from the machine (iced coffee, cappuccino etc.). PROs: - This is the quietest coffee machine I have ever used. This is obviously down to personal experience, but these types of machines are normally very loud appliances and often the noise is carried through the house! This machine cannot be heard outside of the kitchen. Others have claimed that they find this machine noisy (I suppose it depends what you are used to) - Water tank is more generous than previous machines I've used. It's great that I don't have to keep topping it up. It also has a wide opening, and I tend to fill the tank using a jug, so this really helps minimise spillage. - Easy to clean - most of the machine is modular (even the spout is detachable), which makes cleaning much easier. Not sure if the parts are suitable for dishwashing. Bonus points because there is a small tray below the pod bin which collects all that gunky, coffee water that seems to collect in the pod bin! - Dripping - I noticed a few comments on the length of time that the machine takes to stop dripping. In my experience, I have used machines that continue to drip for some time after the drink is dispensed. This machine behaves like others I've used in this respect. Drip tray captures this, and can also be removed for taller mugs/glasses. - The drinks from this machine are really nice and hot. This is unusual from a Nespresso machine, and, normally you have to be quite quick in consuming a drink before it has gone 'luke warm'. Especially if you are someone that adds milk to your drink straight from the fridge. For me, the extra heat is really appreciated in case of a standing drink. Having said that, I understand there is huge importance in the heat of the water, and connoisseurs may argue this has some impact on flavour or taste. I am not much of a professional coffee drinker, and so I really can't comment on the impact on taste/flavour. - The coffee drink dispensed does genuinely appear to be more intense than my previous machine. - The machine is quick to operate - the heating process is quick and dispense time seems reasonable. It operates like most of them where you can add more water to your drink by selecting the same button again. I believe from others that you can also press the button to end the dispensing (maybe if it looks like it will overflow). CONs: - I can't not mention the fact that I've been through three machines in one week - some major quality issues here, and I noted that in a few other reviews. - The machine comes with vouchers that are out of date, which is a little bit of a downer, and removes some value from the purchase. - Parts of the machine do feel quite cheaply made. The water tank seems a little flimsy, and I think it could easily split if not properly handled. Also the lid is not hinged, which is a small detail included in most machines, and creates a small pain point for the user. The pod compartment seems to have some novel design, but it seems over-engineered with lots of moving parts, and I worry about this failing in a year or so. Although, the traditional pod slot does sometimes have alignment issues (sometimes pod is not properly in place, which results in a bad drink), and perhaps this is a re-invention to tackle that known issue in lots of Nespresso machines. - The size of the machine was expected but still worth mentioning. It's a big machine as far as machines go, but if space is not an issue, and you are happy to trade off expense with footprint then you'll have no problems. Personally, I have no interest in paying 2-3x the price to get a smaller machine. - The XXL pods are great, but it will tie you into buying with L'or. It feels like their attempt to make a stamp on the market and capture an audience, but I don't see this sticking, and think it will become out-dated fast, making a part of the machine redundant as time goes on. That's fine, as long as I can still buy and use 3rd party single pods (which I can). - The double spout I just do not get - it seems kind of gimmicky and I am not sure what value it adds. Yes you can pour two at once, but that will require the XXL pods. Is it really an imposition to pour one cup and then another?! Initially, I thought this machine was only useful if you only ever need to pour two drinks at once. That is not true for anyone who is wondering - you can still pour a single shot for one drink using traditional pods. - No on/off button - this is not a major issue, but if you are used to a traditional on/off button then this does mean an adjustment to your routine! For example, you can't turn it on to warm up and walk off. As soon as you select a button, it heats up and then begins pouring. If you are highly organised and like to be efficient, this is probably a little bit of a timesaver as you can come back to a machine with a drink dispensed. As noted in the pros, it's quick to warm up and dispense drinks, so, again, not necessarily a negative and may ultimately save you time, but just a different mode of machine operation to get used to and plan around! I mention it because I can picture new users coming back to a drink dispensed onto their worktop! - Crema has been so far a little disappointing in comparison with other machines I've used. It is not silky or smooth, and it dissipates really quickly. It also seems to be very aerated and bubbly, almost like a foam. I've read online that this might be something that improves over time, and as more water passes through the pipes, so I am assuming it's not a fault with my machine. I have watched video reviews of the machine online and the crema looks the same as mine. There are quite a few comments in these reviews that the crema is of the highest quality, which hasn't lined up with my experience (it's not terrible, but I do need to address it!) - There is mention of pod detection technology in this machine. I don't think that is quite as it sounds, it just means if you use an XXL pod it will take into account that it needs two lots of water pumping through. Summary: I am happy with the machine for the price paid, but would be frustrated had I paid much above this price, mainly because of the quality issues experienced, and it does feel a little cheap in areas. As a casual coffee drinker, and someone who has an average palate, this will suit my needs well.
