Prince of Song & Sea

Get ready to cry all over again! I loved LOVED this retelling from Prince Eric's POV.
Once again....Disney Books has done it again! A 5 Star read and from a new author this time...and A new series coming from the Prince's (of our favorite Disney tales) POV. Loved this one!!What would we have done if Ariel had never rescued Prince Eric? What if he had never met her or kissed her in that little row boat?So, with the new remake of 'The Little Mermaid' coming out in May.....you KNOW i HAD to read this as soon as possible. Well, i read it in less than 2 days actually. With this being the 1st in the new Prince Novels by Disney Books, they could not have launched this new series with a better Prince than Prince Eric. All the classic (from the animated film that is....) characters are here too; Grimsby, King Triton, as well as Flounder and Sebastian. Though they do not talk in this book. lol.Prince Eric has lost his parents and is being raised by Sir Grimsby. When their family boat crashes in a violent storm and all are thrown off into the cold waters to basically drown, Eric, his dog Max and Grimsby survive. However Eric was rescued by someone that he could not really see their face, but he could see 'their bright red hair, and hear their incredible voice'. Who was this? Well, we all know that this is Ariel. What goes on for the rest of the book is ventured upon with new characters that are Eric's friends and assistants that he has had forever. Then Vanessa comes into the picture. he meets her as she is walking along the beach edge one night.....she is beautifully dark haired and tells him a story that he is enthralled in. Who is this mysterious woman? Is she the one that is being called his One True Love? Will she break the death curse that is set upon Eric? You will find out in this beautifully told retelling of Hans Christian Andersons beloved classic; The Little Mermaid. See you at the movies on May 16th! Cannot wait!5 🧜🏼♀️🧜🏼🧜🏼♀️🧜🏼🧜🏼

Love to see Eric's side
Okay, I just want to say that getting the prince's side of the story is fantastic! I would read all the books from the princes' POV.I enjoyed the additions to the story and Eric's personality. As well as seeing how he feels about Ariel. It's very sweet and cute. He feels more like a person than what is in the Disney film, though he is one of favorite princes because he was more fleshed out than previous princes and it's expanded on in this story.4/5 because there were some strange formatting issues and grammar/sentence structure problems.

HANDSOME AND DASHING PRINCE ERIC: UNDER A CURSE {NON- SPOILER REVIEW}
Prince Eric, the dashing, blue-eyed, black -haired dreamboat from "The Little Mermaid", takes center stage in Linsey Miller's exciting "Prince Of Song & Sea." Unlike several recent dreary novels spun from Disney movies, Miller doesn't twist the beloved movie/story out of proportion, or make it unnecessarily dark for the sake of "being dark." From the framework we know of the Disney version of "The Little Mermaid", she constructs an absorbing story that is dramatic; with bits of a 21st Century spin in places. While Ariel is living under the sea, Prince Eric is living under a deadly curse. Before his birth, Prince Eric is cursed by the power-mad sea witch Ursula. If Eric kisses anyone other than his true love; someone who must be pure of heart, song and soul, he will die. Eric's mother, Queen Eleanora of Vellona, died trying to break the curse. The vengeful Ursula has been trapping and manipulating the poor unfortunate souls of mer-folk and humans for decades. Eric, wanting desperately to live his own life and make his own choices, is determined to kill her. The adventure involves ghosts, ghost ships, pirates, and Eric's life-long friends Gabriella and Vanni. Ariel also joins Eric on a dangerous journey to the Isle Of Serein. Ariel is as determined, headstrong, self-sacrificing and devoted as ever; and, of course, unable to speak or communicate properly due to the deal she made with Ursula. She is, however, a great asset to him; and Miller shows us how the destinies of Eric and Ariel are dramatically intertwined. The fate Ursula has in store for Eric, however, may be even worse than his curse.

Perfect Retelling
I absolutely loved this book! I have read similar stories that are retellings of a Disney story and have honestly felt let down often from the plots and the writing. This book however impressed me with all of the characters and overall plot. I liked how while it's a twist on the original story, it still keeps characteristics from the Little Mermaid we know and love. Also, if you thought you loved Prince Eric before, prepare to love him even more. This book is a must for any fan of the Little Mermaid! I can't wait to see what other ideas the author has for the future.

the little mermaid from eric's pov!
This was such a cute story of the Little Mermaid told from Eric's POV!We get a bit of a back story to Eric and his family including a curse of his own. If he kisses someone who is not his true love his life would be forfeit.His mother reminded him of this almost daily when he was young, but a few years ago she went missing and assumed lost to the sea. But Eric never lost hope. One day he gets a bit of information that would lead him down a path to his curse, the witch who cast it, and his true love.I ate this story up and really enjoyed getting to see the background, and Ariel through our Prince's eyes.Cannot wait for more in this series

A fun adventure for a prince getting his own curse
I like that in this book Eric gets his own curse, his own adventure and his own chance to be a hero in his own story. And that new curse and mystery doesn't interfere with the original Disney tale at all! I also really liked the new cast of characters that was introduced in this book. I also quite like that the idea of mermaids existing is introduced way before the reveal that Ariel is one. It makes his reaction that it doesn't matter and that he still loves her even more realistic and believable. In a way I also love how in this tale the prince isn't just a dumb idiot who believes that Vanessa is the girl saving him from the sea just because of a voice.

Wer die Prinzen mag, sollte das Buch auf der Liste haben
Ich liebe die Disney-Filme, ich lese auch die Villains- und Twisted Tales-Reihen und Amazon zeigte mir dieses Buch an. Klang interessant. Gekauft. Was soll ich sagen?
