Many games to choose from.
Since my husband and I don't really go out a lot, the book gives us many interesting card games to pass time and keep the OLD BRAIN working

not much there for ONE
Was hoping for more games that could be played by one, alone.

Beautiful and useful reference book
This book is beautifully designed and well thoughout. Ramsdell includes so many useful details and the background of the games. My husband and I have pulled this out to learn new games for us two to play.My only criticism is that sometimes there's one tiny detail not mentioned that becomes a question of what to do with said card...but that may also be because I have a crap memory for card games in general and therefore little common sense.Overall - I think this is a handy staple to have on your coffee table or shelf. If you're ever in an argument about which way the rules go on a game, this should settle things once and for all!Full disclosure - I received an advance copy of this book a long time ago since the author is an old colleague and friend of mine. I am a bad friend who never got around to do the original review so I hope this makes up for it. I'm so very impressed with Dustin's work!

Very comprehensive, but with quick and efficient instructions and visuals
This book is broken up into two main parts (if you have a friend to play with or you're playing cards by yourself). The visuals and instructions are very easy to understand especially since there is a quick guide of terms in the beginning. I often find that I'm familiar-ish with a lot of card games, but would have a hard time remembering all the details on how to play since I'm usually with others that play card games more often. My partner and his parents LOVE playing card games and I'm telling him to bring this on their cruise so they can relax and browse through it and perhaps learn some new games!I love the cute little additions like little bits of fun trivia mixed in. It kept it fun while browsing through it initially. Super fun to have around! As an additional note, I was provided with an advance copy by the publisher :)

Informative, Useful, and Easy to Learn New Games!
(FYI: I was provided an advanced copy of the book by the publisher)This book was such a fun read! I learned a lot about new games, as well as history and alternative rules or names for games for which I was already familiar. I especially appreciate having a digital copy of the book so I can "take it with me" wherever I go and access it whenever I need to try a game by myself or with a partner. Speaking of utility, I appreciated the clear but descriptive text explaining the games. It's easy to follow and interesting; I found myself fascinated by how rules and description were written for games I already knew :)

Can’t Wait to try these!
I love that this book has games for one person. I don’t love solitaire so I am looking forward to trying the solo games. Highly recommended
