Arisen Omnibus Edition: Books 1-3

This series stands equal (and better than some) to anything I have read from Dean Koontz and Stephen King. It is unforgettable!
I highly recommend you get this omnibus, which I think is free with Kindle Unlimited. Even if it's not, it's well worth the price. This book contains memorable characters because of it's great character development. We know who everyone is, what they are like, and what they stand for. You'll become very attached to the characters, and this is just the beginning. Aside from the characters, there is nail-biting action and memorable battles. I've read this series thru to book 11 and I still remember poignant scenes from this first installment, as well as from the rest of the series, including epic battles, of which there are many. The writing is so detailed and the author is so dedicated to telling a great story that it is unforgettable. There are also a lot of strong female warriors in this series, which had a huge appeal to me. They are treated as equals to the male soldiers, with some even serving on elite military teams. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book, and the entire series so far. There is not a stinker in the bunch. The writing is great, with none of the awkwardness you find in some self-published novels. I have to say this is one of my favorite books and series of all time, and I am a voracious reader of independent authors as well as mainstream authors. This series stands equal to anything I have read from Dean Koontz and Stephen King.

amazing read!
I couldn’t believe this was free on Kindle, but I consider myself lucky to have read this gripping zombie apocalypse series. I don’t know a lot about military operations, but the detail seemed authentic. The writing was crisp and descriptive, the character development was superb, and the intersecting story lines worked well together without becoming confusing. And the zombies- Jeesh! The action was fast paced with so many twists and emotional moments, including surprise deaths and near misses. I often had to put the book down when things became especially intense, but couldn’t leave it down for long.Absolutely recommend without question!

A great start to a new military-zombie series
Josh hereThis series came recommended to me because I am a huge fan of post-apocalyptic stories, to include zompoc books, and also a Brayniac (R.C. Bray fan). I have had it in my library for some time but my squirrel brain kept shifting around (as always happens with any book I listen to) my listening order.I loved the detail about the different zombies and I really enjoyed the military aspect and details incorporated throughout. Overall, this omnibus did not disappoint although the first book had a few sections that left me feeling as though some of the detail could have been cut out. What I mean by that is there were points where a large amount of back story was provided that I felt didn't really contribute to my enjoyment of the story. All of that said, once the main character base was built I felt the story picked up quite a bit.R.C. Bray, as usual, did a wonderful job and I will definitely be moving on to the remainder of the series as I can't wait to see what happens.

More a scifi war story than hillbillys and zombies.
I got into Arisen in one of those Audible sales after really enjoying this series called "The remaining" and jesus I'm hooked. It's kind of a bizarre series. Yes it takes place in a zombie outbreak, it's more complex. It's focused on a small group of survivors but mostly on the military organizations that survived the outbreak which has whipped out humanity. There's about 50 million people left having taken refuse in the UK that was spared the brunt of the outbreak, a scant small groups of survivors around the world and small pockets of military that happened to be at sea when everything went south. The story largely focuses on a elite military group that dropped into areas looking for leftover outbreak research from during the initial fall, however it does have some secondary stories involving characters closely tied to larger events. I won't spoil anything but it helps provide well done twists turns and perspective. I enjoy this book because there's no moronic mistakes any characters make that escalates worsening situations. For the most part survivors and military in this book are alive for a reason, they're not stupid and I love that. The arcs are handled beautifully and being on the 8th book now I'm always excited when I have some down time to listen or read. If you're looking for a walking dead heavily small character driven book this isn't for you. It's just a well written tale of humanity as a whole surviving the ZA. Warning this is more of a Sci-fi war story than girls being chased by zombies through a forest while wearing high-heels. The main female protagonist is a Delta Operator and sniper. Arguably the most capable of any of the characters in the main story. No one will be asking if you'll watch coral.

Someone finally does a zombie story right!
Finally! This entire 14+ book series is genre-changing. This....this is what a zombie apocalypse looks like. Hard, capable, violent, caring, professional, and even funny, people coming together and standing side by side to fight a never-ending but changing global-ending virus.Military spec-ops vs zombies. Aircraft carrier vs zombies. Fighter jets and tactical warheads vs zombies. Apache gunships, tanks, and MRAPs vs zombies. All to create time for science to fight the billions of meat-eating staggering, sometimes-running/jumping/sprinting walking dead trying to eat them and their loved ones.At the centre of it all, a small tight-knit group of the most professionally-capable warriors stand together, cracking jokes and staying not only human but humane.I have never been so eager to voraciously read so many books so quickly. Even after 14 books, I wanted more. Fortunately...there is more.Hey Amazon! Netflix! Anyone! Get this pinnacle of the zombie genre onto the TV screen ASAP. This series changes it all.

Stunningly well written zombie books. I would certainly recommend this series to anyone interested in zombie apocalypse stories
What an amazing book! I was a bit unsure when I began to read this trilogy as I do know one of the authors and was worried I may not like the story. Oh how wrong I was to worry! What a great fast paced story with strong clear characters who are well defined and interesting but are realistic and not whiny! They crack on with the job at hand and you feel as though you are part of the camaraderie they share. The idea of a zombie apocalypse isn't a new one but this has been written with great style, has a great pace to it and has a new twist on the idea of a zombie being a mindless brain eater, well it is but there is more and I'm not going to spoil it for you! If you like army style books, Zombie books, The Walking Dead tv series I am certain you will enjoy these books. All that's left for me to do now is get the rest of the series and find out what happens next!
