Better than nothing
This product could be better if they moved the clips from the bottom to the top. The top straps have to be taken apart to fasten them, and once I took them apart, I could not get them back together right, so they did not stay put. I ended up having to just tie them to keep it in place. I had no place at the bottom of my seats, that I could find, to attach the bottom, so I had no use for the bottom straps. It suits its purpose in a makeshift sort of way.

Not effective for large dogs
This is easy to use and offers some extra storage as a bonus, but unfortunately it's very ineffective for larger dogs like Labs or Goldens--it's so flexible they can just smash it down and climb right over it. I think it would work well for small dogs, probably would be best for Sheltie/Beagle/Cocker-sized dogs and smaller.

Does not fit my car, not enough strap. Going to have to make changes to straps that are it in order for it to work.

Actually works! Great product for the price.
I have an almost 70lb Boxer that loves to sit up front with me and tends to hog the seat from my son. I looked at several different barriers and when I read these reviews I thought for the price why not?It doesn't have quick release hooks at the top which I think is kind of crazy and the clips that you are supposed to use wouldn't stay tight at all so I flipped it upside down and used the quick release hooks at the top tied the others to keep it snug at the bottom and it works wonderfully (I of course can't use the pockets now because they are upside down). Also the mesh wasn't even of concern because it is low enough that he can see over it. It is actually more sturdy than I thought it would be and he has never tried to jump over it while I have been driving or when my son is seated in the front seat. Now if I leave him in the car to get gas or run in the store for a minute when I come back to the car he is in the front seat, but the barrier has not been bent and it has not torn from him managing to jump over it when left alone (he has a little separation anxiety).I am very pleased with this product because the price was excellent and it actually doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the car and isn't harming my dog at any time. This product is not for an aggressive dog or one that doesn't understand what a "barrier" is for but if you have a dog that just generally likes to ride up front with you and is okay with being in the back if he has to be then this product is a GREAT buy.

Don't buy it!
I have a very energetic miniature schnauzer and he jumped right over this barrier the first time I put him in the car.I did you use the nylon straps along with two carabiners to make a leash that attaches to the latch for child car seats. See attached picture to make your own! It keeps him in the back seat and he can move around to lay down and look out the windows.

Not so good
This could have been perfect, but huge design flaws, Needs to be mesh, completely blocks the a/c vent to the back of my car. Also why in the world would this be made with only one set of clips (on the bottom) and NOT the top? It makes taking this off and on a huge pain! It does keep the pup in the back seat, but I am already so frustrated with it because of these two huge flaws.

Innovative product
Even though the mesh "see through" area is not as big as I expected, this is still a good product. Attaching it to the headrests was not an option for us because it would have been too low. In our hatchback, we fold down the rear seats when traveling with the dogs, and the barrier needed to sit higher, aligned with the top of the headrests. Luckily the top straps are long enough for an alternate installation. There was nothing to attach the lower straps to (apparently our car seats are designed differently) so I looped each strap through a long cord and attached it to the door hinge. Since every car is a little different, you might have to experiment with different installations. We love the pockets facing toward the front seat - gives us extra storage!

doesn't hold up!
We bought this before the holiday as we were traveling about a thousand miles with our dog; within the first hour our dog had already tore one side of it leaving a big hole on the side. He's an olde english bulldog and weights about 67lbs. After reading the review I thought it would work but it was just a waste of money!! Don't buy it!!
