Ravensburger Alea Puerto Rico - Immersive Strategy Board Game for Adults and Kids Age 12 Years Up - 2 to 5 Players

Bought for my son-in-law, played together at Christmas. Was wondering what this newer version would be like as I've played the old version. loved it. Nice graphics, good sturdy wooden pieces. And it's a great game!

Great product, all the components nicely made and cardboard pieces punched out easily. Haven't played the game yet but thankfully this version has had all of the production issues resolved - search online to find out more. Arrived without cellophane wrapping but with security seals on the box. Manufacturer has replaced components inside - these are wrapped up together in cellophane - with just the player boards loose in the box.

The version I just got from Amazon UK has had its production issues fixed - correct number of tiles, updated rule book, building tiles with explanatory text on them. (I knew it was corrected because the box wasn't in shrink wrap - it had stickers on the edges instead, suggesting it had been opened and bits swapped out.) As long as you manage to get the fixed version, this is a fantastic edition of a classic; complete, pretty, reasonably-priced, and with a tweaked setting that ditches the rampant colonialism and allows me to enjoy & share it with anyone guilt-free. Don't be fooled by its cuddly new appearance though: it's still the same vicious, passive-aggressive gem as ever on the inside.

I’ve played with my friends during the party and it was very fun. This game used to be most popular board game in the world. Worth to try.

I bought the Puerto Rico 1897 (english/french version) from Amazon.es on the 15th of April 2024 and received it on the 19th of April 2024. On the 20th of April I got to open the game and take a look at its contents to check if this was indeed the corrected version. Indeed it seems the corrected version, partially at least, however, the instructions manuals are not the corrected ones, and the tiles mat is missing the coin price number in the french side. I am sending photos attached to show this. I already sent an email to Ravensburguer requesting replacement of these parts, I am still waiting for a reply. Other than this this is a classic fantastic game that I can recommend buying as long as you get it without any of the issues that have plagued it since its initial launch in 2022.

Recibí mi copia desde Amazon Estados Unidos y ya es la versión actualizada con los componentes adecuados. La caja viene sin la envoltura de plástico, pero viene sellada con 4 pegatinas en cada lado de la misma.

My family loves this game. It's a little bit niche and difficult to find. This one is updated from the ones my sisters have and I was worried if it would be and play the same. It does, but in addition has an expansion. We haven't played some of the new buildings yet, but are excited to introduce that when we have more time to figure it out and play consistently. This is one of those more advanced games where you will feel like you have no idea what is going on the first time through, but is so fun after the first go. So many different strategies.

The Game Peurto Rico 1897 by Alea arrived undamaged in a type of sealed box but not shrink wrapped. When I opened the game it contained only three (3) of the five (5) specified player boards, and all were bent showing signs of miss alignment in the box. All other components appear to be correct at first glance. Unfortunately this means the game is unsuitable to play and is incomplete. Ravensburger has a poor quality checking process for this type of omission.
