How are photos protected? Do the photo spaces have a plastic covering similar to a photo album?

They are simply in the book. There are no plastic coverings, just pages.

Does it have a place for the following: baby's first teeth, first doctor's visit and first bath, and an envelope or place for storage?

All firsts yes. Envelope yes. Book goes to age 5 only & since most kids lose teeth around 6/7, no place for teeth.

Is there a place for baby shower guests to sign?

I can't find one. I think if there is anything I think it's at the back of the book where it says notes to baby. But not an official guest book space where they sign.
