Ecojarz: Small-Mouth Pop-top Sealable Drinking Jar Lid! Stainless Steel and Silicone. Non-plastic (Lime Green)

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased the small and wide mouth versions of these mason jar lids. There is a silicone gasket around the rim of the lid to prevent leaks, and it works...maybe too well. The mouthpiece cover is optional, but if you're taking your jar on-the-go, you'll definitely want to keep it on. My biggest complaint (hence the 4 stars) is that it can be difficult to remove because of the grip created between the lid and metal ring. That can pose a problem, especially for people who don't have Hulk-like hand strength. When this happens, the only way I've been able to remove the lid is by running it under hot water, and using a paper towel or grip to open it. All-in-all, it's an effective way to use mason jars without the risk of leaks or spills. I've kept mine in my handbag where it's been on it's side, and still no leaks. Based on its sealing ability, and travel-/eco-friendly aspects, I would repurchase them. They are quite expensive, but they work.

My friend has a few of these and loves them, so I bought a couple. I put one on a jar and put it on my bag, and it leaked all over, through the seal with the jar. The stopper worked fine. I checked the rim of the jar and the silicon gasket and they both were smooth and clean, so I screwed it on tight and tested, and it leaked within a few seconds. I'm hoping they are still usable as a drinkable lid for the car or something, because I won't be able to use them to take liquids to work like I thought I could.

I love the idea, but the silicone strap that connects to the mouth plug broke within the first week :-( and the lid rusts...love the convienence of being able to drink from a mason jar though.

I have several mason jar accessories, but now this one is in daily use. I had been using a blender bottle because I liked how easy it was to clean. I would use it mostly for water, but sometimes for smoothies or shake up powder. But I didn't like it because it was plastic. I kept the little blender ball if I want to mix something up, but now I use a jar and this. It is VERY leakproof. I put electrolyte powder in the jar and shake upside down regularly. Love it!
