Worth Every Penny – Saves Time and Makes Perfect Kefir!
I’ve been using this kefir container for several months now, and I can confidently say it’s a high-quality product made of safe, odor-free, food-grade plastic. At first, I thought the price was too high, but looking back, it has saved me hours of time and effort—totally worth it.I was so happy with my first one, and this is my second purchase as a gift! Both orders arrived quickly and were well-packaged. I’ve also recommended it to over a dozen friends, and not a single one has had any issues. The kefir always turns out thick and creamy—just like in my photo! A little tip: give the jar a shake now and then to help the milk mix well, and keep it at room temperature for the best results.Highly recommend this container—happy kefiring!

What a brilliant idea
I washed the container and then filled it. I put it in my quart jar , filled it with cold milk. Who ever thought of this, thank you! I just finished my first quart of milk kefir using this kefir grain cage and it worked perfectly. My grains are big and very healthy, I started out with two tablespoons of grains I bought through Amazon, they multiply very fast . I have given some away, but I take very good care of my grains. They take very good care of me, I’m now off of insulin, so I will continue to take good care of them.

Usable
The product is usable. I made kefir without it, used tea steeping balls, etc. This one makes it somewhat easier but not essential. The mesh size is just right, it is a plus. Cleaning is easy. The lid is finicky to close and open. The fishing line is a joke, it comes off easily, difficult to put back on, and does not really help in pulling the unit out because it floats to the top all by itself anyway. A handle would be more useful. Overall, it is just okay and a bit too pricey.

Sadly didn't work for me :-(
Sadly this did not work for me and I so wanted it to work! It seemed like such a great solutionto messy kefir straining. I found that the kefir just did not ferment when restricted to this strainer. I contacted the company for help and they suggested I agitate the mixture regularly but I kept getting batches of sour milk instead of kefir. I went back to my other method of just kefir and milk in a jar and it works perfectly, so this gadget is now stored away until I can find another use for it.

Kefir fermentation basket
This little gadget is an awesome product, making Kefir is a lot easier with it. Since I bought I have made 4 quarts of kefir in a fraction of time, cleaner, and faster. I love it, couldn’t do without it, now that I have experienced its benefits.

Saves me a lot of effort in my kefir production.
What I've been doing is putting my grains in this container and keeping it in a quart jar. I pour in the milk and initially give it a small shake to make sure the grains aren't clumped together. I leave it on the counter and after it perks I shake it vigorously. This mixes the curds and whey and washes the grains a little. I then pour out the kefir and pour in more milk. I drink a lot of kefir and so it's pretty much going all of the time. I take the grains out every couple of week and clean everything. The insert is fit tightly and is one flat piece. When reinserting it one edge needs to be coaxed in so they are edge to edge but they are made well so it doesn't take much effort so far. I've bought these for my all kids who are also making kefir.

I thought it looked brilliant
You can ferment this with the lid closed. Gnats can't get in, and that's nice. Maybe that is what is giving it a very different flavor. I don't know. But it is not as easy as it looks. And you can't wash them in chlorinated water or the kefir will become inactive. I use a couple of times, then take them out to wash, and refill with grains. When I refill next time, I will just use cheesecloth and see if that corrects the taste. Either way, I'm not sure I'm going to continue using them. It seems almost easier to just use a strainer. No separate water needed. It's just quicker the other way. I was surprised that I didn't really like this.
