Really good tea.
I love good loose leaf tea and thought I’d try this one. It was very good on all counts and I shall be ordering more.

Not impressed
I wasn’t impressed by the taste or the aroma of this earl grey tea. I am an expert with earl grey tea and this specific brand wasn’t up to my expectations. It a strong tea however the flavor wasn’t the one I was looking for. I know it is all about personal tastes so I don’t want to influence the readers and I recommend they try it as it is reasonably prices and well packed. You may like it but for me ,,, not really

Terrible Flavour. No bergamot test. Very disappointed

Fantastic taste, subtle, but full in its flavour.
The media could not be loaded. First thoughts:ProsCan be brewed in quite small quantities and still delivers a full and smooth flavour.Aromatic with a distinctive black tea taste.Bag goes a long way, more so if you like your tea on the lighter side.ConsNothing to note so far.Smells and tastes great, easy to use with a cage or infuser, and looks nice if you’re loading it into a bowl for self serving.Brews especially well in larger quantities, so if you’re using a teapot (my preferred method), this works very well. That being said, it also lends well to small scale brews and you may even get a second infusion out of it if you don’t mind a slightly lighter second cup.Details and things to note (See pictures and video):150g bag of loose leaf Earl Grey Tea from Sri Lanka, they suggest using 1 tsp/2g per 200ml of hot water. This produced a full favour brew that was surprisingly light and refreshing.Nice to brew in a larger amount in a teapot but works just as well in small brews.Final thoughts:Happy to recommend this for use in infusers, as the leaf material is quite large and easy to remove from filters and baskets. If you’re dropping them straight into water, then they’re large enough to avoid and there’s minimal small particles to worry about when brewing, use a finer filter when you reach the bottom of the bag where the smaller debris has settled.

I’ve tasted better
A little weak flavour of Bergamot, I find.

An aromatic taste of heaven ...
I am no tea connoisseur but I do love a good cup of tea, so does my husband … and there is nothing better than a loose leaf good quality tea that has been brewed perfectly, poured through a tea strainer and then drunk from a very fine bone china cup.Unfortunately being a foster carer and parent of four teenagers usually leaves me with just enough time for a quick teabag in a mug. I was very excited to receive 150g of this top quality Cenvel Ceylon Black Loose Leaf Earl Grey Tea and promised myself the time to make and drink this tea in the way it deserves. The tea arrived in a good quality foil bag that has an easy to tear top. Follow the tear mark and the top of the bag tears of neatly and easily. Once open this bag can be resealed by pressing the plastic seals provided together. This loose tea has an extremely rich and aromatic bergamot scent which is very pleasant to the nose, the leaves themselves are a mixture of small (under 1mm) and large (measuring up to 1.2cm long) and many sizes in between, in various shades of black they have an attractiveness of their own.I haven't got a glass teapot as suggested but I do have a very good quality large bone china teapot, so I decided to make our tea in that. First I boiled some water, and let it stand for a minute before use (tea does taste better when the water is just a little under the temperature of boiling), I then warmed the teapot with a little of the boiled water.I placed two teaspoons of tea into the warmed teapot and then slowly poured the boiled water on top of the tea, I gave the pot a quick stir, put on the lid and then put on a tea cosy. I left the teapot covered for five minutes (we like our tea quite strong). While I was waiting I added a little warm water to each of our bone china mugs (we don't have any teacups). After the five minutes was up, I emptied our mugs and then poured the tea through a tea strainer into the mugs and added a dash of milk. I put the used tea leaves back into the teapot and added some more boiled water ready for our second cup.My husband and I then sat down to drink our mug of tea … and it was pure bliss. This tea tastes wonderful and has a beautiful deep golden amber colour to it, far better than the greyish and dusty look of tea made with teabags. There really is no comparison, if you have never tried loose leaf tea, then you really haven't tasted tea at all.Highly recommended

Great Earl Grey Tea !
I firstly discovered Earl Grey Tea many years ago, but when buying it, the quality and taste from various sources varies so much from great to really awful, so getting the right balance is a bit of a lottery and so I fell out with it to be honest, but I was keen to try this brand to see where it comes in the scheme of things. You get 150g of tea for £4.99 (correct at time of review on 3 June 2022) and the expiry date was end of December 2024.It comes in a resealable foil bag (just tear off the very top section by hand and pull the bag open) and immediately on opening the bag I could smell that amazing smell !I am a strong tea lover, my wife is the opposite, in fact sometimes I think she would be just as happy with just plain boiled water so she tends to make the tea and pour it out within a minute of making it 'no brewing time'.Anyway, loose tea has always been my favourite, except for the tea leaves of course and that is why we normally used to buy teabags, but then we found an expensive but amazing teal pot with a container for loos tea that doesn't allow any 'debris' or 'dust' into the tea, so it was time to test this blend. As soon as you pour boiling water onto the leaves that nice smell intensifies, my wife immediately poured her cup out (yuk !) and I left mine to brew fully... the taste for me was great, although I would have liked the Bergamot to have been stronger but my wife though the balance was just right. All in all a nice cup of tea and I give it 8 out of 10 (But for ME it could do with more Bergamot) , which translates to 5 stars in my book. my wife gave it 10 our of 10.
