WOW powerful suction! Best stick vacuum ever!!
WOW Powerful suction! I purchased this stick vacuum along with two others of similar prices. Right out of the box, this one had the most suction power by far (at least 3 times more) against my hand - I didn't even bother with the other two vacuums. Our house is made up of tile (kitchen and laundry room), laminate (dining room), linoleum (bathrooms), and twist carpeting (living room and bedrooms). We have four children (ages 7 [boy], 4 [boy], 3 [boy], and almost 2 [girl]) and three indoor cats.My dining room floor requires vacuuming/sweeping after EVERY meal. My living room is next to the dining room so I inevitably have crumbs that manage to spread from the table to about a foot into our living room. With several toddlers in the household, we have crumbs of all shapes and sizes. I needed something that would pick up the chunks as well as the fine stuff and if it could pick up crumbs that made it's way into our living room with our longer carpet, that was a huge plus! This vacuum is AMAZING! It picks up the chunks and the fine stuff, it also picks up the really big chunks (quarter size?) with a quick motion. (I put my foot on the floor attachment to hold it down and pull up on the stick so I am left with the handheld on a stick. I wave the stick towards the big chunk and suck it up. Then I put the stick back onto the floor attachment. I do all of this while it is still running and I'm standing up comfortably. I've gotten pretty quick at it. It took a few different times to get the hang of it by putting it back onto the floor attachment while standing up and it still on but well worth the 3 times it took for the learning curve.) With a little extra effort it will pick up the crumbs that make their way a foot into the living room - I wouldn't recommend this vacuum for a long carpet like our twist carpet to vacuum the entire floor but it does work in a small area without having to get the big vacuum out.My kitchen doesn't have a floor transition strip to the dining room so I get crumbs between where the two floors meet from time-to-time. This thing sucked it right out like it was the hose on my carpet vacuum! The vacuum even gets crumbs off the edges of the floor by the wall - my cordless purple Shark vacuum never did that. In fact I had been so disappointed with that vacuum that I went to a broom for the last few years. I'm so glad I decided to go with this corded vacuum as it works like it should and does the job well!We went camping last week and I brought this stick vacuum into the camper for the week. Our camper is very old (1966). I want to say the floor might be of linoleum but we have low pile carpet over it in most of the main areas. In some places the linoleum is exposed 6" or more along the sides as these were just carpet remnants thrown in. I had accidentally gotten the floor really dirty when I had put a big furniture blanket into the camper a few days before we left for our camping trip. The grass was wet with dew and I had stepped in a dry sandy spot on my way in. It never crossed my mind the dirt would stick to my dew bottom shoes. I ALWAYS take my shoes off but I thought why bother with one step to the closet to put the blanket on the shelf as my shoes don't usually get too dirty. I should have followed my rule about taking my shoes off as I had one very large dirty wet footprint on the carpet - with a lot of dirt!. Once it dried, I used the vacuum and it sucked up all the dirt on the carpet! Throughout the week we camped, it even picked up these 3" hair like things from trees or something. They looked like green needles but much more flexible - I have no idea what they were. It did take a little bit of effort to get them off the carpet but had it been really long dog hair, I don't think it would have been an issue at all.MOST IMPORTANT NOTE: I empty my vacuum after each use so I can continue to have superior suction power. The 2nd time I emptied it, it wasn't sucking as strong as when I got it. I was very disappointed as I was reduced to the suction level of the other vacuums on the market. However I never had a vacuum with this sort of filter before. I noticed it had a thin fabric layer with a Velcro strip around the filter. I took the thin fabric layer off and was amazed at how much dirt was trapped in there. Yes, all that dirt from my big footprint was reducing my suction power despite emptying and gently banging the filter against the side of the trash can. Once I removed this thin fabric, I could gently bang the filter against the side of the trash and get a lot more out of it. I reattach the thin fabric layer when I am done as imagine without it I would be putting all of that dirt into the air when I'm using the vacuum (and it was a ton of dirt). When I remove the thin fabric layer to get rid of the dirt and hair off it and the filter, I am able to get my very strong suction power back.WHAT ELSE I LIKE ABOUT THE VACUUM? (As if there could be anything else.) I really like that the handle is adjustable! It has numerous height adjustments. The handle is very durable and can be adjusted quickly as needed. I also like that it comes with a few other fun attachments - though I haven't needed them yet.EXTREMELY MINOR DRAWBACKS (if you can even call them that). I purchased a car vacuum that plugs into the cigarette lighter that came with a brush to clean the filter - my husband uses it in the semi truck. That brush might be nice to clean the filter with but honestly I don't think any other stick vacuum comes with one (if other vacuums do, it wouldn't be worth buying the vacuum over this one). Also this vacuum is heavier than then the feather lightweight vacuum on the market BUT I think it is because this motor has to be way more powerful than that one (hence it being a little heavier). However I will take the way more powerful vacuum over the feather lightweight any day of the week. It still isn't terribly heavy, I just noticed a difference as I held the two, one right after the other.BOTTOM LINE: Don't waste your time or money with other stick vacuums on the market. If you have had a bad experience with other vacuums for the hardwood floor or low pile carpet, don't let that stop you from trying this one. I wish I had this 6 years ago when we bought this house - it would have saved me a lot of time and headache (not to mention my children hearing about the mess they made that I then had to clean up ha ha ha).

The way a stick vacuum should be!
So I was looking to replace my little, obnoxiously loud stick vacuum. What sold me on this was the large size, the HEPA filter, and the 5.5amp motor. There's nothing like horsepower!!!Never heard of it, however it looked good so I took a chance and snagged it.Wow, this is what a stick vacuum should be!!Turn it on and the motor has a nice solid sound to it. It's not loud, tinny, or obnoxious. Just sounds solid and good, much like the hearing a V6 vs a 4 cylinder. It's lights enough to easily carry around, but heavy enough to feel like its well made. And that telescoping handle, hallelujah!!! The small flexible cord and attachment is great for cleaning the couch and dining room chairs, as well as the stairs.I bought it to clean my main living level which is laminate and tile floors. I have two cats who seem to shed enough hair every day to make another one. This works well at picking up cat hair, the pellets from the Tidy Cat breeze litter box, and of course dirt. Let's not forget about that! One fun note is the exhaust exits on the right side, and puts a substantial amount of air. When vacuuming near corners, it'll blow all the dust and cat hair out of the corner and then it lands in front of the vacuum. Not sure if it was designed that way, but it works well.Time will tell how long it lasts. However, if you're looking for a stick vacuum that has lots of good features, actually works well as a vacuum & doesn't cost $$$, I'd check this out.

Fine, but take it for what it is...
Do you need a vacuum that will help out with little dusty nubbins here and there? Do you want to spend less than $40? Then this is the vacuum for you, my friend. This is probably NOT the vacuum for you if:• You are someone who says: "I would like to speak to the manager" more than once or twice every ten years.• You have a big space that needs constant vacuuming.• You have carpeting of any depth at all.• You have a fear of electric cords (it is long).• You are generally clumsy or do not take care of your things. So this little guy showed up as I am painting my floors and right in time. I needed something that was light and could get dust up and off the floor before I painted so I don't end up with little gummy boogers on an otherwise smooth paint film finish.Pros: Lightweight, powerful suction for size, easy to empty, easy to assemble, small.Cons: Small canister, small filter, fine environmental dust means more emptying filter, made entirely of plastic, the exhaust vents are aimed in a weird direction, and the floor attachment is laughably small. This would be great if you had a small room with hardwood floors or needed to keep a camper or RV clean. This is not the vacuum for you if you have a large great room with carpet. After this little flooring paint job thing is done, it is going to live in my workrooms and get used for fabric snips and stray threads at the end of the night in lieu of my large push broom. And maybe taken apart for dusting with the hose as a shoulder strap machine, but I can be pretty notoriously lazy, so we'll see about that little proposition. It does not have a stand, so you have to babysit it a little. If it falls over, that plastic is definitely going to crack and/or shatter. This is as it would be with this kind of plastic. As it is, I'm happy with it. That floor attachment is so ridiculously small and clunky that I ended up Frankensteining the hardwood floor attachment from an old Eureka onto it so that I can actually cover some ground, but for US$35 I am ok with that. This modification also helped with the direction of the exhaust. As-was, the exhaust vents tended to stir up dust and debris to each side of the path creating this comic situation where you are chasing dust while disturbing other dust. I did not want to be the Keystone Cop of Cleaning, so when I added the bigger floor attachment I gave it a new longer tube as well. Higher off the floor doesn't interfere with the lower dust as much.So there you go. It is fine. It has a long cord, it has good suction, and it will be fine if you aren't trying to vacuum up macaroni and cheese or drywall dust or something. Also: it is less that US$50 which is probably criminally cheap and all of us are going to have to pay for that at some point karmically. The plastic is definitely going to crack if you don't treat it right, so yeah... maybe don't use it as a baseball bat or store it under your hoard of "collectible" porcelain angel figurines. Store it upright in a closet and don't use it to hit things and you will be fine. And the attachments are 1 1/8" attachments. My Frankenstein job combined the tube from an old Orek with that hardwood attachment from an old Eureka to use for the best result I could cobble together.
