The contouring in front makes it really stay in place. The poncho is quite lightweight and packs well. I'm in California so it hasn't actually be rain tested yet.My only concern is --- why black? I "decorate" my powerchair with a safety vest because people in wheelchairs are seemingly invisible. I have edged this poncho with red duct tape and put white/red reflector tape across the shoulders and I still worry about how safe I will be crossing downtown streets in a black poncho. Sell me a poncho in day glo orange or something really visible, please!

Hope to get some rain someday so we can try it, but none yet. Looks like it will keep my daughters legs covered and dry.

I bought this for a man with Downs Syndrome, he's about the size of an average 12 to 14-year-old, maybe 5' tall, and this did not nearly reach over his feet. It reached to just past his knees, and he is not heavy so there's no tummy taking up space. It's much shorter than it shows and the neck opening was very cozy, even with all the snaps undone because it's a webbed neck opening, which is nice for waterproofing but didn't make much more room for getting it on. Absolutely not appropriate for a full-sized adult with a full-sized head.The quality of the material doesn't feel flimsy but it doesn't feel like it's meant for more than a light rain. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and we have *every* kind of rain, which doesn't care if it's a doctor's appointment day. This will do for a child on a stroll in a spring drizzle, but not long-term wear and tear in real life, in real rain and wind.
