The Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Harness is exactly what I needed for both of my small dogs who are escape artists and my big dog who scares easily at sudden or loud noises. The design is brilliant—I love the martingale-style cinch - it’s secure but comfortable, and my pups can’t wriggle out of it like other harnesses I’ve tried. The step-in style makes it quick and easy to put on, which is a big plus when you’re dealing with an excited pup!The harness is lightweight but durable, with soft padding that doesn’t irritate the skin. I also appreciate the range of colors, as it’s nice to have something both functional and stylish. Our walks have been so much easier and worry-free with this harness. Highly recommend for small dog owners, especially if you’ve had issues with other harnesses! But we big dog owners can enjoy the security and ease this harness provides. Every walk is now a joy!

This is a great harness. The material is sturdy, but it's still very lightweight and comfortable; my dog is able to freely run in it.With the right size, this harness also functions like a martingale collar in that the more you (or the dog) pull on the leash, the tighter it gets around the body. That mechanism helps prevent the dog from slipping out.I've attached photos to show how different sizes fit on a small fluffy dog that weighs 18 pounds and has a chest circumference of about 19 inches (18.5 inches if the tape measure is pulled tight).The small size harness did fit, barely, but I would've had to pull the harness even tighter in order to bring the two ends of the leash rings together to clip on the leash -- that is, for normal wear. (Just FYI, the circumference of the harness is about 21 inches here.) Also, I could tell that the harness sides were too small and uncomfortable on my dog.So the Small size was just too small and too tight and uncomfortable for my dog. I had originally tried this size because I was concerned about excess slack making the leash ring ends flop around, but the small harness left no slack at all.The medium size fits perfectly. You can see in the photo that there's enough slack to pull the harness tighter when needed, but otherwise, the harness fits comfortably while he is relaxed.The large size also did fit, but you can see in the photo that the harness fits loosely even with the adjustable belts at the smallest lengths. That meant the harness couldn't be pulled any tighter to prevent the dog from slipping out. Plus the leash ring end belts would easily flop around.So, based on this experience, my dog's 19 inch chest was at the very end but within the limits of the Small size range; in the middle of the Medium range; and just below the range for Large. The Medium size harness fit the best, and it was also the only one that allows the harness to function like it's supposed to.Overall, I highly recommend this harness. Just make sure you get the right size for your pup. I just wish it was a bit more affordable and that it had a ring on the front for attaching ID tags.

I absolutely LOVE this! It works wonderfully!!! We have a medium sized dog that loves to lunge after squirrels when he sees them while on a walk. We use a retractable leash and frequently find ourselves tugging for him to come back closer to us when he's standing in the woods or out of reach. Our concern was always that his old harness would slip off over his head when we were pulling from the front. It would frequently start to pull over his neck and on one occasion one of his legs slipped out. When I read that this harness is specifically made to NOT pull off from the front, and in fact it "snugs up" under those conditions, I was intrigued. I ordered it. But to be honest I didn't believe it would really work the way the description claimed. My husband was also skeptical about the sturdiness and durability of the plastic D rings. But we have been sooo impressed with this harness! It totally delivers as promised! It snugs up when pulling from the front. But it won't hurt your dog. It just snugs in a way that prevents it from slipping forward! The plastic D rings have held up just fine! Our dog can go from zero to 60 when he sees a squirrel and this harness holds up just fine under the pressure of the sudden stop and pull of the leash! One other thing to note: Our dog also tends to have issues with his trachea and we were unhappy with the way our old harness would pull against his throat. Gooby also offers a choke free harness which I was considering but I decided the more critical issue was our dog's harness pulling over his head and him running off. I was so pleased to find that the regular "escape proof" harness also sits a little lower on the chest and does NOT rest near our dog's throat! If you're deciding between 2 sizes I'd recommend going UP a size. Goes on very easily and lightweight! I could not be happier with this product and highly recommend it to everyone! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

I’ve tried many different types of harnesses over the decades of having dogs. This one is amazing. Not only is it escape proof, but it is so easy to put on my dog. I love the fact that you don’t have to mess with a bunch of straps to adjust the fit. The mesh is soft and my dog seems very comfortable in the harness. She has managed to escape from every other product I have bought her. She has barely tried to escape from this one. I liked it so much, I bought another one for my other dog who doesn’t need an escape proof harness.I would have given it 5 stars if it was available for bigger dogs.

We love these harnesses. We have 3 dogs and we use this harness for each of them. The colors are true and it has long lasting quality. We’ve had a couple for over 8 years and no issues so it is a great value. The harness is not tight and fits odd sized dogs perfectly because it is also adjustable. The security of the harness is very important as the dogs cannot pull or slip out of it.
