Plug and play, works right away. Converts input analog composite video image signal (yellow RCA plug) to HDMI output
Plug and play, works right away. Converts input analog composite video image signal (yellow RCA plug) to digital output via HDMI.The unit did not overheat, even after continuous operation for several hours. My standard definition movie DVD disks displayed a very clean image on my new 24 inch HDMI monitor. My old DVD player provides the composite video signal that feeds into this A-to-D converter. Of course, I expect to see even sharper and clearer images from these same DVD movie disks when my HDMI-output all-digital DVD player arrives. The new set-up will eliminate the D-to-A conversion in my old DVD player, followed by the A-to-D conversion in this device, which causes unnecessary addition of digitization noise. I will keep this adapter until the last composite output device in the world is recycled.

like a rainbow going across the screen
I would give it zero stars if I could. It causes visual and sound distortions. The screen has different colors, like a rainbow going across the screen, and the sound cuts out randomly for a second or three at a time.
