I had an old STC89C52RC microcontroller that I was trying to use to drive an 8x8x8 LED cube (which didn't work out for other reasons) and needed a way to interface with the STC, which isn't easy considering that the STC model is from many years ago. Thankfully this was listed which, together with a power supply cable (sold separately) and a USB to TTL Serial cable (also sold separately), allowed me to access and upload ("flash") programs to the STC chip using the program STC-ISP (v6.85, downloaded from online). The only reason this isn't five stars is that the power switch (white push-button) would occasionally get stuck in the off position, so it wouldn't always work. Overall though, you can't beat this price for a custom piece of electronics from long ago if you really need it.
